This place is AMAZING! Fantastic food, and such great karaoke in Spanish and English! Fun crowd, with everyone singing and dancing… made even greater by amazing authentic Mexican food! Served LATE! Ottawa’s best kept secret? I will definitely be come back and recommend this place for a great time!

The place must’ve changed the owners. It used to be a full service restaurant with a great atmosphere and now it’s..well a bare bones fast food. Plastic chairs, disposable utensils, no menus. The tacos were very salty and so soggy they were falling apart in my hand so I had to ask for a fork. The stuff was nice but it’s not the same place anymore.

When my girlfriend and I had come over a year ago, we were given 5 star service/and food, the atmosphere hasn't changed much other then they removed the cocktail bar. However when we went back for our anniversary we were very disappointed by almost everything. Instead of being greeted and seated by a waiter. We were addressed by someone who told us to take a seat anywhere. There were no physical menus and the menu changed to being mostly the same thing or foods that are similar. When we were ready to order I had to get up and go to the counter and order and pay beforehand( which doesn't bother me that much but is different). When we were brought our food. It was brought out in plastic take out containers. Instead of giving sause in a gravy boat like they had done before they had only provided tiny plastic containers that are smaller then ketchup cups. The food itself tasted bland and lost a lot of it's zesty tangyness that made it so good last time. Nor was any of it spicy.
Overall our experience was highly disappointing and it really ruined our dinner. If it's been a while since you've been here last I recommend a different Mexican restaurant as the quality of the food and experience felt cheap but the foor retained it's pricetag making it a terrible dining experience

We dropped in here after the Christmas Market in Landsdowne and we had the best time!
We got chicken, shredded beef and pork (carne enchilada and pastor) tacos and they were all equally amazing. Super flavourful and filling!
To top it off they gave us two extra tacos on the house due to a long wait which was very appreciated. But even without the extra tacos, Mona’s Taqueria won us over with their flavours!
Taco tastes great but there no service- which isnt a big deal because u gonna be busy with food

The food here is super delicious, and the service is kind and cheerful. We had a quesadilla, some tacos, and a volcanes. Everything had so much flavour from the corn tortillas to the toppings to the smokey spicy hot sauce and the super tasty guac. Can't wait to go back!

MONAS TAQUERIA 873 Bank Street
We have honestly been 1000% disappointed; they have taken away the charm of Mexican tradition. They changed and removed so much from their menu; now it is lacking, there are no cocktails like before, and there are no waitstaff. The only person who attended to us was Miss Ansi, who is the only one we can commend as she served us very well.
However, regarding the atmosphere, visual appeal, food, and plating, it has honestly dropped from 100% to 5%. The food doesn’t taste the same.
