I am generally dismayed with the poor communications about the venue's change in direction. It seems to be a slap in the face to the patrons who supported live jazz music over the years. I've no wish to be subjected to Muzak like background music like I can have in any elevator. Your food menus is a joke and overpriced. I'm not planning to return unless you keep some live music (not background), I.e., Ed Lister and upgrade your menu
Last nite was my first visit. A nice, laid back atmosphere. Service was spot on. Good music. Good selection of scotch whiskies and a nice whiskey flite menu. We didn't have a meal here. I'll definitely be going back.

You need to update your menu. It's quite pathetic. Also so gentle reminders for diners to keep their conversation levels down while music is on. I have friends who would come to your music events if MSL was more of a listening room
Really knowledgeable and friendly staff, large selection of scotch and a good atmosphere.

The Montgomery Scotch lounge had a wonderful jazz quartet playing two sets on this evening. We reserved for the first set from 7 until 9 and were not disappointed in the least. The music was superb in this very intimate location. The ambiance was wonderful as no one was seated very far from the musicians. The lounge is known for its outstanding selection of Scotch whiskies and would not disappoint a bona fide Scotch drinker. The wine and beer selections were understandably small but adequate as one does not expect a Scotch lounge to have a wide selection. This is not a place that one goes to for the food. The food menu is minimal at best and is more of a canape style. We had a Ploughmans Lunch ( a fancy name for aa small charcuterie board) along with Buggy Whip - a 4 0r 5 thin sausages with a nice mustard . The Ploughman's had a nice selection of meats and cheeses although the quantity was tiny while the sausages were over cooked and dry and hard to chew. When I do go again I will be sure to have eaten beforehand and only to go to enjoy the live music along with a drink.
A disappointing evening unfortunately. Our last visit was so promising.
The “trio” this evening was a very uninspired “duo” which didn’t interact with the near full house at any time. Music was good but no ambience at all.
Menu is very limited, generally slow, almost “lazy” service.#LetsDoBetter

Montgomery Scotch Lounge is a fantastic, excellently decorated space with fantastic live music and absolutely incredible service. The staff were welcoming and warm and very knowledgeable. The night I went was busy, but they stayed on top of things, and really took care of my friend and I. The bartender recommended some wonderful scotch - my friend and I really enjoyed what he suggested. Montgomery's scotch collection is robust, and the detailed menus they have were both helpful and informative.
We expected a “trio” as the live jazz music, instead we had a “duo” who were less interactive with the audience than Van Morrison! (I didn't know that was even possible!) menu is pretty “thin”, scotch selection is excellent and the staff are friendly and attentive. This place is a “diamond in the rough” I feel that, with some better management oversight and attention to detail (especially the music) they could go from just good to great.
We were there to hear the guitar trio. A single male came in at the start of the second set, and was joied by two women. He talked incessantly through the whole set—LOUDLY. At the end, he went up to the band and thanked them; I'm surprised he heard a single note.

Looks like a great place and we will try to go back. It was a live music night and not what we were looking for.
Had such a wonderful night with my friend. The food was very affordable but fancy and yummy! The jazz performance and the comfortable couch was just perfect.

What a great venue for live entertainment. The groups that we follow and fortunately play at Montgomery Lounge always put on a great performance. You are close and personal with the performers. The food is very good and the staff - especially Tara and Matt - are so friendly and exceptional and always look after us. We highly recommend you spend time at this venue. You won't be disappointed.
I have been here twice and both times the drinks and service were excellent. The bar snacks are decent and reasonably priced. However, the atmosphere may not be the best for listening to live music. On both visits, there was at least one or two tables of people who were loudly enjoying themselves and obviously not really interested in the music. Some people might find this distracting.
