Food has gone downhill. Had the rice and pork chop dish. Fish sauce was to citrus. Rice was dry and hard. Ask for an egg sunny side and got a over cooked egg. Only reason we went there because Bistro was closed for their vacation ?.

The food here was decent with the highlight being the grilled meats.1) Spicy Sate Beef soup was decent but not my thing. Not as soupy as I would have liked2) Special Meat Set was good and I would get it again. Grilled meats tasted good.3) BBQ Pork and Beef Vermicelli was good with the grilled meats.Prices were decent as well.
We have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years now. It has been our favourite place for good, inexpensive Vietnamese meals. But my last 2 visits (May 2023 and August 2023) have confirmed to me that the service is no longer what it used to be. The food is still good. Although, I did notice that they don't give you a big side plate of basil and other greens with your pho anymore. The quality in service and the atmosphere have gone dramatically downhill. The waitress has a horrible attitude. She never smiles. Just a glum face that looks blankly straight ahead. She thumps the food on your table with a "Here!". She speaks loudly and calls orders across the room. Whether the restaurant is busy or mostly empty, she rushes around half stomping and running with tea or dishes in her hands. Our most recent visit, there were only a few customers and it was dead silent in the restaurant until a larger group came in. No music for ambiance. Just a stern waitress standing nearby waiting for you to write down your order on the pad of paper provided. Now the man waiter is much nicer. He took our dishes with a smile and initiated some friendly small talk at the cash.
