Disappointing. My regular spot was closed. Egg rolls/rice ok. Chow Mein was bland and had too much sauce. I love Crispy Beef but this was not edible. Sliced very thin, fried way too much. All I could taste was oil. The sauce was served seperatly and just weird. It was also more expencive than regular spot.

I enjoyed the Newtown restaurant about a week ago which would have been probably the end of June 2025 I just found them amazing
Food isn't bad, typical oriental style Chinese cuisine, hits the spot every now and then.

Ordered takeout and my food came quickly and piping hot the chow mein was still crispy and the spring rolls are perfect! The beef and broccoli was mostly broccoli but still a very large portion. Definitely will be ordering again though.

I had the dinner for one number one combo, and I have to say that it was absolutely delicious. The beef and broccoli stir-fry was excellent, the chicken fried rice was really good, the pork ribs were very tender and juicy, and the spring roll was super crunchy and very delicious. I highly recommend.

New Town Chinese Food has become a bit of a tradition in our household, especially around the holidays. Whether it's Christmas Day, New Year’s, or any long weekend where we just don’t feel like cooking, this is our go-to spot, and it never disappoints. One of the things that stands out most about this place is how fast they are, even when they’re slammed with orders. You can tell they’ve got their operation down to a science.
The menu itself offers all the staples you'd expect from a classic Canadian-style Chinese restaurant. From sweet and sour chicken balls to chow mein, fried rice, General Tao, beef and broccoli, you name it, they’ve got it. The variety is solid, and whether you’re ordering a combo for one or a full spread for a group, there’s always something for everyone. It’s straightforward, familiar, and consistently tasty.
What really makes them stand out, though, are the portion sizes. They’re very generous, and you always feel like you’re getting great value for what you pay. Even the smaller combos are packed to the brim, and the larger family dinners can easily feed more people than advertised. We often have leftovers, which makes it even more worthwhile.
On top of all that, they’re one of the few places that stay open on holidays, which is honestly a lifesaver. There’s something comforting about knowing you can count on them when most other places are closed. And again, even when you expect delays due to the rush, they manage to get your order ready quickly and efficiently. They may not offer delivery, but the pickup process is seamless, and the staff are always polite, quick, and organized.
New Town may not be trying to reinvent the wheel, but that’s part of what makes it great. They know what their customers want: fast, familiar, satisfying food, and they consistently deliver. If you’re looking for reliable Chinese food in town that hits the spot every time, look no further. This place has earned its spot in our regular rotation and will probably stay there for years to come.

There was a piece of plastic in my chow mein. I called the restaurant and they won’t do anything, just told me call Skip the dishes. Unbelievable!

The best Cantonese Chow Mein in the City!! Crispy noodles, lots of fresh veggies and bbq pork. I’ve tried most places in China Town and New Town is still the best imo!!

⚠️ I rarely leave negative reviews, but I honestly can’t recommend this place. With so many other great Chinese restaurants around, I won’t be returning.
