Ollie's Pub & Patio

Not worth it. Every time we go they close an hour early and refuse to update their hours. The bar staff checks on guests every half an hour and don’t look up to see if you’re almost empty or need more food or even the bill. if they manage to look up from their phone or computers at the end of the bar (or stop chatting with each other) the service is not good. Since there is no table service and the only thing they do is pour a pint, you should not tip. Service tipping is about 1. Good service and 2. A personalized experience. Simply pouring a beer is what they get paid for by the hour. It’s been like this for the 2 years I’ve been going with friends. Apparently it used to be “the place to go” now it’s a place everyone complains about. Not sure why management staff is continuing their employment or not changing their ways. Most of the times it’s a taller long red haired girl who is manning the bar, even if it’s not her it’s most of the rest of the staff who behave like this.

It is actually almost unbelievable how badly run Ollie's is. Good luck ever placing an order, staff is too busy working on their computers and chatting with friends to ever serve you. Do you really need to have 3 staff sitting at their computers at the bar while the place is a mess? Tables always have trash on them, I constantly see food waiting and getting cold on the counter, and staff always seems annoyed when you ask to place an order. I have started getting my own food from the window when it's ready. Way too many times I watched my food sit while multiple staff sit on their laptops. I assume they hear the ring from the kitchen because they always eventually go get it after several minutes.... but why are you employed at Ollie's if you don't want to get off your laptop to bring people their food? Isn't that your only job? I also cannot believe this place asks for tips on their machines... what am I tipping for? Food quality has down down hill, staff is rude, and it's never easy placing an order. All they do is walk 10 feet to bring you food, I'm not tipping for that when I can do a better job of getting my food myself. What a joke this place is.

Very slow service for a basic order. Ketchup was either expired or someone dumped their martini into the bottle. Jukebox didn't work. Vibe was kind of nice, but that's about it.

Very sad. My review used to be 5 stars but Ollie's has gone down in quality so much this year. Bartenders chat with their friends instead of taking orders and the food tastes nowhere as good as it did last year. Very frustrating to want to order something while the bartenders are laughing with their friends and ignoring you. This used to be my favorite place at Carleton. Not anymore.

Got chicken burrito bowl and it was quite literally the worst i ever had. water was not drained out under the rice so it was all soggy, no seasoning, no sauces just got a salsa container, and portion size was too little for a $14 item.

As far as university pubs go, Ollie’s is a fantastic place to be. They have certain deals every day of the week, and the staff are always super friendly.As far as prices go, everything is more on the pricy side, especially as a university pub. They have a wide selection of beer, varying from on tap, cans, and bottles.The pub also has a specialty cocktail of the month (I’m yet to try any) but they all sound delicious. Will definitely be heading back.
