soooooo guuuuuuuuuuuuuud!!!I had originally planned to take my friend from Montreal to a pho place I loooove (Pho Tuan) but it was closed for holidays...we met this very cute vietnamese girl living in the area and asked her where to go: she said go to Pho THu Do!!!may the gods bless her soul. We had incredible pho soup and deep fried rolls. I felt love in the 8 hrs simmered broth and it proved me the poetic lines of a Haiku book I read before: The Art of Peace, yes that was it!!!!!!

Pho Thu Do will be able to give you an incredible experience when trying Vietnamese foods. The food was absolutely delicious, everything from the pho with its rich, flavorful broth to the fresh and crispy spring rolls was perfect. The service was friendly and attentive, making us feel truly welcomed. The restaurant is big enough, making it a great spot for a meal with friends or family. The portion is huge compare to the price. Highly recommend!

Last visit to this restaurant location was before pandemic and it is now under new ownership. I was impressed by the variety of offering & create-your-own choices on the menu. I had the special pho (#21 pho dac biet L $19.95). It came in a good portion size and I was pleasantly surprised the noodles used were freshly-cut vermicelli as opposed to the more conventional dried ones. The broth was robust & served off-the-stove hot in temperature; meat was plentiful & of decent quality. We were there during the last hour before closing time, yet service was efficient and polite. Overall, I do believe this kitchen and staff are a step up from the previous management team. I definitely look forward to my next visit.

Restaurantji Recommends
I had a rare and well done beef pho; i liked the soup base, very beefy and flavourful- a but in the salty side but definitely hits the spot! The well done beef was very dry so i would not recommend that, but the pho noodle was chewy and had a great texture. I enjoyed the pho and would come back for rare beef pho!

This used to be my favourite place in Ottawa and very well known for having the best pho in the city even for visitors from Toronto. They changed the pho, more specifically the soup and the noodles. I’m not sure why the new owners would come in and immediately change the staple dish but I will probably not come ever again.
I couldn’t even finish after being a loyal customer for over 4 years.

This is an outstanding restaurant - this might be one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I've been to in my life (I am visiting here from another country - and apparently I camouflage myself around here pretty well because the majority of the locals including the owners of this restaurant, thought I was from Canada). The service is always A plus - and I'm very hard to please regarding food. I always order the Vermicelli at a Vietnamese restaurant - and my test for the restaurant is - is the food greasy as hell? I've had incredibly greasy Vermicelli before - and that's the result of a low quality cut of meat that ends up greasing up the entire offering. Not the case here - the meat was very lean, not greasy, and very fresh (the noodles and the vegetables were very fresh). Here's the other thing: I'm a Caucasian man - and when I walked in the door on Sunday, I knew I found a place that the locals like - because 97% of the customers that night were of Asian descent - I was the only Caucasian man in the restaurant - so this is not a Westernized restaurant - this is the real deal here - very authentic Vietnamese food). The owners are incredibly friendly people.
