For such a high rated place, it was a very average bowl of pho. Broth was not very flavourful at all, cuts of meat were relatively thin and ordinary.

Spring roll broken rice was OK, but noodles were not vermicelli but some strange yellow noodle.

Pho Thu Do is a special place for me. It was the very first restaurant I visited when I came to Ottawa — my introduction to Vietnamese rice noodle here — and after more than 25 years, it’s still the first place I go with my family.

The food has always been reliable and comforting, the kind of flavour that brings you back without thinking. Service is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s the kind of spot that quietly becomes part of your routine...

This is our go-to late night pho place. It's open 'til midnight (which shocking in Ottawa), the pho and vegetarian noodle soup is excellent, there is never a queue and the service is great 👌
