This isnt a presotea anymore, some other company took over. They changed all the menu items by one word but it all seems the same. Presotea signs and packaging is still used. Pretty weird. Sad i couldnt use my gift card, but i wouldnt say it has changed much

Presto tea is usually my favourite Boba place but today the Rideau location lost my business. The shorter female cashier was extremely rude and disrespectful. I came in and asked to use the bathroom and she said their bathroom is only for customers. I said okay and said I will buy something (I was already going to buy something before she asked but I actually had to pee badly hence why I wanted to go to the bathroom first). After I told her I would buy something, I spotted the bathroom and started walking towards it and then she’s said “can you pay for it first before going to the bathroom” and made me do a whole transaction before she let me use the bathroom. I’m so happy I didn’t pee myself in public because of her.
People shouldn’t have to buy something just to use the bathroom. I spent 8.50 literally just to use the bathroom and then she had the nerve to hold me at the register, like I was going to run out of the store or something. Last time I checked, you can go into a restaurant and use the restroom without buying something, have times changed??
Like I said Presto tea has been my favourite Boba place since I first had it, so it was not a nice experience to come in simply to use the washroom and have to go through all of this and be treated like I was doing something wrong.
She handed me a straw at the end of my transaction before she let me go to the bathroom. If you’ve ever seen the bathrooms at the Rideau location it’s smaller than a sardine can, the stall doors are not tall enough to give you any privacy and it’s pretty gross. I’m petit and I could still see over the door. Because the bathroom is so small and I was rushing not to pee myself, I dropped the straw she gave me by accident.
By the time I came out of the bathroom, the drink I was forced to order wasn’t ready yet and the lady was busy. So because she was busy and they had straws out on the counter I took another straw. She then looked at me and she’s like “oh didn’t I give you a straw already?” I told her I dropped it and she’s like “you dropped it?” and I’m like “yes in the bathroom” she was acting like I stole something. Then she said “don’t use those straws use these straws” and took more straws out of the drawer.
I had my younger sisters with me and one of them also had to use the bathroom more than me, so when I took the new straws I took three so that we could all share the bubble tea that I bought. When she saw me with the three straws she’s like “oh you’re sharing that” and I’m like “yes I am”and then she just looked at me like I was doing something wrong by sharing a drink with my sisters.
I don’t usually write reviews and I’m actually not a loud and confrontational person. I don’t think you’d look at me and think “yeah thats a trouble maker”, I get that sometimes you might need to be a little rough with people especially downtown at night but I don’t carry myself like that and shouldn’t have been treated like that. I really don’t think I should’ve had to buy a drink just to use the bathroom but even after I said I’d buy something and actually did, she was still rude as disrespectful. I would never make someone who clearly needs to pee, stand at the register and all that before letting them use the bathroom, what happened to the honour system?
Like if I had peed my pants there, then would’ve happened?? I’ll go to the one on Richmond road from now on, the people there are nice and have decency.

I was waiting for my friends at this place, and one of the workers keeps coming to me asking me if I’m waiting for someone, and I told her that I’m waiting for my friends and we will older when they are, but she keeps coming and asking for the same question that I just answered. This is not how you treat your customers at all. Is really mean of her specially, when I was looking forward to order something that I like! No not coming back for sure

Absolute waste of time and such a disappointing experience. It’s apparent that the days of proper customer service are long gone.
As other reviewers have shared the mid sized female cashier is very rude and dismissive. I ordered a large matcha drink(my first mistake) and upon tasting it I disliked it and walked up to the cashier register to ask for a an exchange/refund. The cashier yelled twice “no exchange or refund” folllwed by “isn’t it what you ordered?
The boba is terrible and they should pack up and lease the space to a better brand 🚶🏾♀️

I've never sat and drank water in a dirty place like this. The tables and chairs are arranged in a messy way. The seat cushions are very smelly (it's been a long time since the seat cushions have been cleaned) and the tables are very dirty and are not cleaned every day.

I came here often enough, however I find the service was very poor, the person takes orders always speaks extremely fast and always impatient, I get it sometimes we get tired at work, it’s hard to put a smile, but it’s the same every time I come. I give 4 star for the food , the bubble teas are consistently good
