So many places sell croissants that are essentially just bread rolls, but here you can actually taste the care and craftsmanship—the layers are perfectly laminated, delicate, and buttery. I’m completely in love with the pistachio toque and the lemon cardamom bun—both are incredible.
Right now, their pastries are only available at farmers’ markets, but I truly hope they open a storefront someday.

They are at the market on Saturdays on Main Street. The bread is excellent. We are happy to see them there. However, the service is mediocre. They don't say “Hello” or “Thank you.” Basic rules of courtesy, it seems to me. It's a shame because everything else is perfect.

Visited Pure Bakery that delivers amazing Sourdough Bread & other whole grain breads at the Orleans Farmers Market. An amazing little bakery that packs a punch of many bread delights at fair prices for quality products. We used to buy from Almanac Urban Mill at this market but they no longer participate which was disappointing. Both these bakeries are unique and wonderful with an array of sourdough varieties.

Ottawa has some stellar local bakeries, and great sourdough bread. Purebread hits the top of the list for incredible flavour, texture, crumb, and selection. Beware of their croissant and cinnamon buns, they are highly addictive! My go-to at Main St Framers Market!
