Fairly average across the board. The rice rolls were good, the soup was not quite to my taste. Pad thai average, rice stir fry beef average. We did like the use of crispy onions on the dishes. Washrooms were small and clean. Food was relatively quick. Staff seemed surprised we wanted take out containers for our left overs. Wouldn't recommend nor avoid.

We ordered the ginger chicken stir fry and the general Tao chicken. Both meals were excellent. The service was friendly. The whole visit was a pleasure!

I’ve been here a few times for work and the food is fresh and very tasty. Quick service and very pleasant. I highly recommend sitting down for a meal here.

the lady (likely the manager) was the only one serving people, she was definitely not welcoming and service was really slow even with only a couple people in the restaurant but, then she gave herself a non-deserving tip? The service was slow and the food was mediocre at best!

Overpriced food! Stay away!!! Can’t believe they charge $24 before tax or tips for a pho, this is pure robbery

I went here for lunch for the first time the other day. The vibe and service was good, the food was above average yet overpriced (I paid around $30 for a glass of water and green curry chicken).

I unfortunately had a piece of plastic in my food and felt unwell afterwards. The waitress was apologetic and I'm sure given the amount of people who were there at lunch it's uncommon.

But for the price point and what I received I don't think it'll be a common lunch spot for me

Green curry tastes super mild and has no distinct flavour of spice at all,the chicken pad thai has a strong ketchup flavour, horrible taste! And be aware they has a mandatory tip for group over 4 people:)

We were celebrating the departure of our colleague for a maternity leave and this is the place she chose — 1st time and it won’t be the last !! I work near by for the past 6 years and never went. I ordered a traditional Pad Thai shrimp 👌🏼 insanely good, and the bowl wow nice presentation !! No reservation and we were seated promptly, very welcoming. Menu had so many dishes. I’m returning for sure to discover more. I don’t have any food allergies — none of us, Great experience.

We were looking for hot soup for dinner and walked pass this restaurant. We ordered beef Pho and shrimp wonton soup. They served in very portions. Soup was really good for cold weather. Love how they decorated the restaurant as well.

Order Uber Eats here twice and when I arrived the restaurant is closed. Turn off ordering if you are closed. Won't be ordering here again.

My colleagues and I decided to try Red Pepper Thai-Viet for dinner. The restaurant itself is spacious, and we were promptly seated, which was a promising start. The extensive menu offers something for everyone, appealing to a variety of tastes. Unfortunately, the positives ended there.

I ordered a Thai dish that sounded delicious from the menu description. However, when it arrived, it contained zucchini—an ingredient not mentioned on the menu and, frankly, not typical of Thai cuisine. Since I’m allergic to zucchini, this was a serious issue. Granted, I could have disclosed my allergy upfront, but as the ingredient wasn’t listed, I didn’t anticipate the need to do so. For reference, zucchini originates from the Americas, so its inclusion was unexpected in a dish marketed as authentically Thai.

The server agreed to have the kitchen remake the dish without zucchini, but her attitude soured the experience. Her demeanor implied the mistake was somehow my fault, which was disappointing and unprofessional. While I appreciate that they refused my offer to pick out the zucchini (I mentioned the allergy after all), the interaction lacked the basic courtesy and understanding you’d expect in the hospitality industry. “The customer is always right” does not seem to be part of their philosophy.

When the new dish finally arrived, the flavor was genuinely enjoyable, but the portion size was underwhelming, especially given the price. With so many excellent dining options in Ottawa, I won’t be returning to Red Pepper Thai-Viet. A good menu is important, but customer service and attention to detail are equally crucial—and this restaurant missed the mark on both counts.
