The food was good. The butter that comes with the bread is excellent- probably the best thing we had. The accoutrements for the oysters were good too.
However, we had to wait for a very long time for our mains to arrive. If our server had checked in on us from time to time to explain what was going on in the kitchen, it would have been forgivable. I would also understand if it was a very busy night, but there were a lot of empty tables around us. Our server also looked away from us multiple times and tried not to catch our eyes before the mains came. Weird experience. But good food. Would I go again? For the amount of money I spent, no. Not worth the abysmal service.

THE BEST PLACE for a luxurious treat! I loved the place for its excellent service! SHOUT OUT TO MY MAN FUAD for his service at our table and making our experience incredible. The food is absolutely insane.. the portions are bigger than we expected and ended up sharing each course between two of us. The manager is also very pleasant to speak with. This restaurant is everything nice about ottawa ❤️❤️❤️

To be honest, this review would more likely hover around a 2-3 star, but I find the seemingly overwhelmingly positive google reviews baffling enough to attempt to bring down these reviews with a lower score. I went for an anniversary dinner, and everything about the experience was absolutely middling, especially for the price. Though the building was gorgeous, and spacious, everyone who was at the restaurant at the time was seemingly herded into the front portion, while the rest of the restaurant was empty; maybe for the appearance of a bustling venue? Who knows. The service was flat out bad. We had to ask multiple times for basic requests (more water, orders and napkins which had been forgotten), and though I may be getting into the nitty gritty of things here, every time the server passed our table (which was inordinately frequently), he would move the empty chair next to me, hitting my foot. Though this is hardly something I'd usually mention, at the Michelin-level price they're charging for each main course, it's absolutely not acceptable. The food was fine at best, and fine for 50-60 bucks simply doesn't do. I will say that overall, the presentation was nice. I ordered the Octopus, and credit where credit was due, it was fresh and tasty. However, just about everything else was not up to this standard. The mushroom risotto was bland and flavorless - except for the fennel taste, which was absolutely overwhelming. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to try any of the meat, so I would remain hopeful about that. They are, after all, a steak and seafood restaurant. Ultimately, there are many other places in Ottawa where the food and service would be better, and for a lower price. Not recommended.

Your service was excellent. We have no negative comment in regards to the service we experienced. Everyone was wonderful and the bilingual service was exceptional. The food on the other hand was not up to par. We had the discovery menu with the wine paring. Compared to other places where we've have this experience it unfortunately fail short. For the price we expected to be wowed and to discover some of the best food offered but we left dissatisfied and disappointed. There was no wow factor to the food we were served. Sadly the food was a letdown. We love to taste a variety of cuisine and have been to great restaurants where a Chefs choice menu is offered with wine pairing, unfortunately this is the first time we left quite disappointed and this was the most costly dinner. The wine pairing was fine but the quantity/selection don't believe was worth the money spent. I've been wanting to try this place for many years and de used that our 10 year anniversary would be the perfect opportunity needless to say this was not what we anticipated for our special date night.
Our server, Nick, was amazing. I have food sensitivities, and he took very good care of that. He is friendly, attentive and so pleasant. The food was superb.

The service for this luxury restaurant is disappointing. My glass is not clean! I request to change! Even the fork is not that much clean!The food is acceptable but not specific! We ordered 18 oz steak and I expect at least more than enough for one person but I even don't feel full! They bring it cut! It is not worth the value! The appetizerer is too small portion! I asked for anything specific to surprise for birthday but they bring it after a long waiting time and I thought it should be complimentary but then I saw it on my bill!hahaa if I ordered it at least I order something better and I got it without waiting a lot?

We very much enjoyed our dinner at Restaurant e18ghteen. When I made the reservation, I let them know it was our anniversary. They acknowledged it by seating us in a lovely window seat and wishing us happy anniversary in chocolate on a dessert plate with complimentary chocolate tarts which was a great touch! A lot of restaurants ask if you are celebrating anything special and don't do anything but Restaurant e18ghteen showed it which is a rare event these days in restaurants. We also thought the food was excellent and the servers very attentive. We had the chateaubriand for two which was delicious. We would definitely come back to Restaurant e18ghteen the next time we are in Ottawa as there were many items on the menu that we would like to try. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or to enjoy a delicious meal with great ambiance.

Very nice evening. There a small mix up with my spouse's entrée but the issue was corrected quickly and to our satisfaction. I recommend Eighteen for a nice dinner , excellent service and great food.
