Went to Riviera Ottawa for dinner. The ambiance was very nice. Kind of like dark-ish, fancy speakeasy vibes (but not with the hush hush talking lol). We ordered: steak frites, medium rare — very tender and flavourful; scallop chowder — love this, great starter, scallop tasted so fresh and the ginger was a nice touch; burger — really good classic burger, double patty, very heavy and filling. Our server was also very polite (we forgot his name) and gave great suggestions. We would have gotten dessert, but we were stuffed after lol. Would definitely come back!

The food ar Riviera is always a hit! Delicious, with excellent service. I'd recommend a reservation as it can get quite busy. Sitting at the bar is also an option for dining and is absolutely worth it if you like cooking.

The food was exquisite. Just lovely. The drinks menu & wine selection was incomparable. The service was flawless. Combine that with the lively patio and the reasonable prices and really, this is an unbeatable spot. We'll be back to Ottawa next summer and I can't imagine we won't be back. Thank you all so much.

From the host’s welcome to the bartender and servers, everyone is polished, polite, and wanting to make you feel special. That’s what Beckta has lost a little bit of in recent years that distinguishes Riviera.. Of course, the food and atmosphere also weight in heavily! Loved my oysters (one type was definitely better than the other) and halibut (cooked to perfection). Wouldn’t do peas with it though. Drinks were good. I will be back soon - the seafood tower, favourite of mine, is calling my name!

Beautiful atmosphere perfect for any intimate dining occasion. We were promptly greeted upon arrival with cava to celebrate our special occasion, and the food that followed really was sensational. Gravlax was light and just the right amount before our lobster pasta, which was al dente to perfection, and the Steak, which was to die for. Service was excellent, with just right amount of check ins. Fun little touches with photo booths by the bathrooms and charming wine service. Highly recommend.

We celebrated our 10-year anniversary at Riviera and couldn’t have chosen a better place. The ambience was stunning - elegant yet comfortable, with a warm, intimate feel that made the evening truly special.
The food was absolutely incredible - every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavour, from start to finish. The bartenders also deserve special mention for crafting expertly balanced cocktails that complemented the meal perfectly. It’s clear the team takes real pride in quality and presentation across the board.
What really elevated the night was the exceptional service from Erica. She was thoughtful, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. Her timing, recommendations, and friendly presence definitely added to the experience.
Riviera certainly made our anniversary memorable. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
