Server was pleasant & friendly but food was mediocre at best. My husband ordered a club & upgraded the fries to a poutine for an additional $6-he was lucky to have 18 fries and about 6 pieces of curd. I ordered Rueben platter with fries & there were more fries on my plate than his. The sandwich was not grilled & was served open faced with no sauce & sauerkraut on the side. As pleasant as the servers were, we were never checked on until it was time to collect the plates & settle up with the bill.
The diner was also in despair as they used duct tape to hold trim on the seat backs.
The bill for one soft drink, one chocolate milk, one Reuben sandwich with fries & pickle wedge and one club sandwich with upgrade to poutine was just under $59 before tip. Not worth it at all and we won’t be back.

I ordered a Cajun chicken sandwich and it was mostly bread and I had to fish for chicken. Mashed potatoes were really bland. I complained and didn't get much of a response. It was very expensive for a 20 dollar sandwich with barely no chicken.

Been here several times, and the breakfast has always been pretty decent, recently tried their chicken Parm sandwich, and it was quite disappointing. Not enough sauce but also had lettuce and tomatoes on it which was strange. The onion rings were okay.
Someone else got the club sandwich and they found it quite dry as well.
Overall, I'd say stick to the all-day breakfast

After countless disappointments eating out lately Rockin Johnny's has restored my faith. My boyfriend and I went for breakfast this morning and left very happy. The food was fresh, hot, and tasty. The service was excellent! Special thanks to Michelle out server. She was wonderful! We will definitely be back!
This might not be Ottawa's most exciting area, but Rockin Johnny's Diner offered a welcome splash of color. Great food and even better service.

Everything was perfection. This place has no right to be this good. Zero complaints. Amazing food, great selection and even better staff. The decor is nice and the place is clean. I could not recommend this place enough. Their coffee is the best I have had. Try their salmon bagel. They don't skimp on quality or ingredients. For their eggs benedict they know what they are doing. You even get a choice in how your eggs are poached, easy (runny), medium (normal) or hard. And they succeed at getting it to your specifications. Unlike at other places where it's like playing egg roulette. Here you get exactly what you order.
The staff are friendly, patient and informative.
They have a menu option for anyone and everyone. Don't like eggs? No problem. Want all the eggs? They got you. Senior, kid? They have the right options for you.
You won't regret eating there.
