Amazing food, so much flavor and it's so fresh and good. Wonderful staff.
Best Samosa in town
Delicious food, really flavorful. Service was also really warm and friendly :) 100% will return.
First time trying Safia last night and all I can say is WOW - the food was incredible! We ordered one chicken suqqar, one lamb suqqar with rice, salad, sambus, and chapati. The food was served quickly and the portions were very generous! I'm still in a food coma! The service was also very friendly and it was a nice place to have Iftar after a long day of fasting. Would definitely recommend Safia and will be back! :)
Their Salmon platter with spinach curry is a must try. Well marinated and spiced up!
Very friendly and good food. Thought I would try something different and was pleased with the food and service. Ginger Tea was a nice add and also very good.
10/10 recommend Allāhumma Bārik, super delicious, flavourful food. Reasonably priced. It’s fresh and lots to choose from. Definitely a great representation of Somali Food!

Incredible food and service. Came with the whole family and everyone ate something they loved! My Latina mom loved the liver platter, the kids enjoyed the beef wrap, my husband and I had a platter of beef and chicken and also the chicken wrap and everyone tried the beef sambusas. So very delicious! Can’t say enough about the super service too! And very generous portions of everything. We will definitely be back soon!

What a gem! We needed food for 6 (including 3 guests) and I had heard a review of Safia on cbc “eat the strip”. I thought let’s give it a try. I picked up food to take home. We had the delicious chicken saqaar. The rice was to die for, chicken chunks were succulent and deliciously spiced and the lamb Zapatista dish (with lentils and spinach) was heavenly. As others noted: the lamb was so tender that it slid off the bones and melted in your mouth. Servings were generous. We ate A LOT and still had leftovers. None of us had ever had Somali food before. Everyone was delighted. The service was warm and friendly. The owner and his son are just wonderful good people and excellent chefs. Just meeting them is worth a visit :-). Thank you Safia from Bah Sophia :-).

I enjoyed my favorite meal of BEER (liver) and Bread. The flavors, colors, and spices transported me back home, reminiscent of my mother’s breakfast.
I thanked the chef for their excellent work. Oooh and the tea was simply incomparable.

I visited Safia Restaurant in Ottawa yesterday for a taste of Somali cuisine and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a cozy decor that adds to the charm of the dining experience.
The service was attentive and friendly. The staff was knowledgeable about the Somali menu and provided helpful recommendations. The food arrived promptly, and the service was consistently pleasant throughout the meal.
I ordered the [specific dishes you had, e.g., Beef Samosas and the Chicken Stew], and both dishes were delicious. The Beef Samosas were flavorful with a perfect blend of spices, and the Chicken Stew was hearty and satisfying, accompanied by [mention any sides or accompaniments, e.g., injera or rice].
The menu featured a good variety of Somali dishes, and the meal was quite affordable, with the total cost coming to around 20 CAD. The pricing was very reasonable given the quality and portion sizes.
Overall, Safia Restaurant provided an excellent dining experience with authentic Somali food and great service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore Somali cuisine and will definitely be returning in the future.
