The dumplings are tasty. It is a long wait. They do not take names so you have to stand there for 40 minutes in the cold to be seated. It would be better if they took numbers and called when it was time to be seated. Overall the food was good, and if it is warm outside it is worth the wait.

Our first visit to this restaurant was a resounding success. Despite the Winterfest chaos, the staff managed to accommodate our large group. They were incredibly patient and helpful as we navigated the menu. We kicked off our meal with peanut butter noodles and peanut butter dumplings, which were a revelation – the flavors were amazing! For our main courses, we opted for shrimp tom yum dumplings and pan-fried dumplings. We also ordered hot and sour cucumbers to complement our dumplings. Everything was exceptional, especially after braving the cold Winterfest activities.

I love love and love their soup dumplings! When k moved to Ottawa I was craving for soup dumplings and I found this place! My kids love this place! I have all their dumplings best is chicken and shrimp!

Sammi & Soupe Dumpling is always a solid choice in ByWard Market for comfort food. The soup dumplings were juicy and flavorful, and everything came out hot and fresh. Portions were generous for the price, making it great for sharing.
One thing I really appreciated was their payment setup. The POS system was quick and smooth, and card payments were processed without any issues even during a busy service. It made checkout fast and stress free, which is a big plus when the restaurant is packed.

I have been here twice in the last month, and both times the service was horrible. I gave it another chance, this time it was different workers, but still horrible service. Both times we sat waiting a long time for our food, and then also waited like 20 minutes for the bill. I ordered a $5 red bean bun, and they clearly forgot because they didn't bring it when I had paid... I had to ask. Then it took forever to get it. I don't recommend the appetizers: the wontons also are underwhelming for the price, you don't get very many and the peanut noodles were really disappointing, it is literally like $8.99 for spaghetti noodles. The dumplings themselves are delicious, but again, expensive for what you are getting. I wouldn't recommend this place unless they improve their service.
