As a Persian who grew up in Ottawa and has tried every Persian restaurant in town, I can confidently say that Silk Road is the best - by far.
Not only is the service exceptional, but the staff are incredibly fast and attentive. The ladies running the place somehow manage to serve a full restaurant with amazing speed and warmth. Even when it’s packed or there are large groups, the food comes out quickly - and it’s always fresh and delicious.
The atmosphere isn’t fancy or anything special, but it has that cozy, small-restaurant vibe that makes it perfect for families or casual dinners.
The portions are huge - real Persian portions! The kabob, rice, and salad plates are so generous that I always end up taking some home. Both the chicken and beef kabobs are unbelievably tender, buttery, and flavorful.
The appetizers are just as good - from Kashk-e-Bademjan to Mirza Ghasemi to Ash - all spot on. The mixed rice dishes are fantastic too, from barberry rice to qabuli. And if someone in your group isn’t in the mood for Persian food, they’ve got other options too.
The desserts are great, but honestly, it’s the service that really sets this place apart.
No matter where you live in Ottawa, Silk Road is worth the drive.

One of the best restaurants I visited during my trip in Ottawa. First of all, I’d like to thank the waitress who was a lady, and she was very kind and helped us to choose our dishes.
The food was absolutely delicious. the Fesenjoon was very delicious, and the kebabs and rice were perfectly cooked and tasty. The service was excellent, and the restaurant had a warm, welcoming atmosphere and was very clean.

Silkroad Restaurant in Ottawa is a 5 stars restaurant indeed. My husband and I enjoyed every dish we ordered. I had Torsh Kabab in many Iranian restaurants but the one I had at Silkroad was by The Best. - and the Persian ice cream is to die for.. strongly recommend. Thank you for the great service.
