I stopped to grab dinner and the food was horrible. The hot and sour soup has no flavour, looks like gravy and seems old. It’s very thick. There is no way to eat it..

The chicken dish I got is old, dry and overall not good.

I don’t recommend this place. I won’t be returning.

I have loved so good since I was 5 yrs old. For more than 25 years I've been going to eat Peter So's pepper salt squid, Indonesian shrimp, sweetheart eggplant and garlic green beans. Every birthday this is my family's spot. Since Peter retired and sold the restaurant it's changed, which is understandable. Until this year the food was the same. But now, my favorite pepper salt squid is made differently, the sweetheart eggplant isnt availsble, and the Indonesian shrimp has no peanut sauce(a dish he created for my mom and added to the menu because she couldn't pick what she wanted one day). Dont get me wrong, their food is still fantastic and the Shanghai noodles are amazinf, the best crispy beef you will ever have. BUT. My heart is broken after realizing my favorite deep fried pepper salt squid no longer tastes or feels like it used to last year and for the last 25 years. I'm really sad they changed the breading and the cuts, while I get different chefs and different ingredients are maybe the reason, it was the exact same for 25 yrs even after selling the restaurant. Maybe the chef changed. Just really sucks as it's the end of an era for my favorite dish. 😭

We always order for pick up and get the salt and pepper tofu - it never disappoints! Super fast and reasonably priced.

We choose two items from the advertisements on the wall thinking if they are promoting them on the wall they must be the preferred choices. The fried rice was just passable. Other than some heat, there is nothing to make this be considered Malaysian. The crispy beef was very tough. Also ordered wonton soup (not pictured) which was literally a single shrimp wrapped in dough in a fairly plain broth. Definitely would not try again. The typical food court Chinese fast food actually tastes better.

This is not the So Good of the past. New store with none of the atmosphere of the old one. It's no surprise the place was empty. The food had no seasoning to speak of. We asked for spicy everything. We had to ask for salt and pepper for all dishes even the salt and pepper tofu! Peter would have cried to see what has happened to his place. Sad. Won't be back again.

It’s our go-to spot for take away! If ykyk. Hands down best egg rolls in Ottawa. Love all the veggie dishes and noodle dishes. Their salt n pepper tofu rocks. Wish they delivered but great service overall !

The restaurant could use a good cleaning and the washroom was very dirty. Also, the quality of the food has gone downhill.
