You come here for the food. The fried pork with rice and bean sauce is the best comfort meal ever. Order it as Petit Griot avec sauce pois (Small fried pork with bean sauce) or Gros Griot avec sauce Pois. (large). Staff speaks little to no english, service can be interesting but noone complains because the Griot is just that dam good!

This place is a real hit or miss sometimes, but for the most part has very delicious food. I recommend ordering the Griot or the chicken if it’s your first time going there. They also offer free ranged chicken in sauce on Thursdays and Sundays and if you get the chance to be there on those days I Highly suggest getting it. The service is sub-par with almost no one being there when you are ready to order and order notes being mixed up when you call ahead of time, but the taste of the food and the quality more than make up for it. The price does continue to go up with inflation, but the flavour is still there and the restaurant itself does seem to be building a more hospitable environment with more tables for guest to sit at and enjoy their meals. 4/5

Honestly the worst service I have ever had in my life. They take forever to make your food and then are rude when you ask about it. From the minute you walk in you feel unwelcome, Especially if you are white and don’t speak French. I stopped coming here for 6 months because of the service. I came back today for the first time and although the service was 100% better, the food still took forever, because I knew the service was very slow in the past, I ordered my food for pick up and then waited30 minutes to go and pick it up. I still had to wait another 20 min. That’s 55 minutes I waited for my food. My advice is to always have someone at the front. It’s getting better but stil a lot of work to do

The worst food I have ever eaten. We ordered chicken and a fish dish. We got beef that was like leather with no seasoning. Rice was a week old. We through it in the garbage.

Every time I visit Ottawa, I have to get Haitian food as Toronto doesn’t have many spots. I walked in and the lady at the front was not only RUDE but ignored me and took peoples order that came after me because they spoke French and I didn’t. I walked right out!!!! I will NEVER go back there again.
