Delicious appetizers, great ambience, a little too dark in some areas to read menu, fun drinks.
I made a reservation at the Speak Easy Tapas Lounge for 6 people for my friend's birthday on a Sunday evening in November. We had an amazing experience. The bartender, who was also the server, was friendly, attentive and got all of our orders correct. Our food came quickly, granted there were very few other people at the restaurant. We ordered a variety of tapas, small bites and mains and they were all delicious. I would say that for tapas the stand out was the beef tataki, incredibly flavorful and delicious. Definitely recommend! Great place for romantic dates and catching up with friends.
Had an amazing time for my friends birthday! Lance was amazing. The service was a 10/10. He was so accommodating and helpful- I could not shout him out more!! He’s very witty and created the Spritz Tease - amazing cocktail. Definitely recommend!

Food tasted good, portions seemed odd but the main issue was the complete disorganization. Drinks for the table took about 30 mins on average to receive. One of our party was finishing his entree and another at the same table hadn’t had anything brought out. Flavours were good pretty much across the board but the execution was poor. Highly disorganized. Singer was great … even fabulous..but they should buy new mic cables as it was very noticeable.

great ambiance, excellent live music. cocktails were great! food was also very good, but cold ... tool very long time, and arrived all separate (party of 10). service was poor. drinks took forever, and were sitting on the bar for 10 minutes before being served. server did not come back ... empty glasses. overall this could be a great place, maybe just understaffed.
We made a reservation for the Jazz performance and dinner. The singer was simply amazing! We had the duck spring-rolls, pasta with chili and chicken. All great and very good portions for value. We also tried a couple of their cocktails and they were really good. The only thing I would say that could improve is the decor, maybe too cabaret? Remove the Jim Carrey character? But overall, recommended!

We were only in Ottawa for three nights and we discovered Speakeasy Tapas on the first night. We liked it so much we went back on our last night. Great food and friendly service!
Sunny day, happy hour. What's not to like? Well, the service. Far too long to take the order after sitting. Drinks took ages to come. Food and drinks were good when they came. In case you think I am too critical, the table next to us left after not being served. I saw three staff members, only one of whom was actually making an effort.

Welcoming, beautiful, and laid-back atmosphere. Staff were on-point; engaging, knowledgeable and knew so much about their drink selection ☆☆☆☆☆
Live jazz. Talent.
In the middle of the chaos of the market area at night, you'll find an oasis- The Speakeasy Tapas Lounge. ♡

The service was excellent with the staff providing suggestions that were fantastic. I will be gong back!
The food is always on point. My fav dish is the beef tataki on the tapas list is amazing. Perfectly prepared. The pear and Brie in the From the Garden list, is delectable.
Atmosphere is chill, romantic and fun. Great music is always playing. The shows/ musicians that perform are hidden treasures of Ottawa.

We dropped in late on a Friday night for a quick bite. We had never tried this place before and, having been to most other spots in the market, decided to stay rather than look for somewhere else when staff welcomed us with a happy-hour offer of half-price cocktails and tapas.
The space is underwhelming, and the food didn’t live up to its surprising 4.5-star rating. The Pear and Brie was a soggy, tough slice of bread with barely any brie, and the Tiger Shrimp Tempura was overcooked, with broccoli florets too hard to even cut. Even at half price, the quality, presentation, and value weren’t there.
Drinks were fine, but overall it wasn’t a good use of money. There are many other places that deliver much better food, atmosphere, and value.
