I guess you need purple hair to get good service at this location. Certainly won't be going back. Staff were miserable and unhelpful.

I accidentally ordered at a different Starbucks right before my shift. The amazing barista rather than sending me over made the drink for me. Thank you so much it made my day, i didn’t catch her name but she had glasses and a contagious smile 10/10

The staff at this location are incredibly slow and rude. Go to the Elgin location if you want better service and a drink made in under 20 minutes.

The staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating, unfortunately the few times I was there, it took over 20 minutes to get my drink.

They water down their drinks here and the female staff member working today had a bad attitude that makes you feel unwelcome

Staff are friendly and attentive. Love the written touches on the cups. Better than the usual misspell of my name. Felt cozy.

It is with considerable dismay and a legitimate expectation of higher standards that I find myself compelled to place on public record the appalling treatment my husband and I were subjected to by a member of staff—specifically, a barista by the name of Rue—at the above-named Starbucks location.

On what was intended to be an unassuming visit for our habitual order of regular lattes—a modest tradition we associate with warmth, familiarity, and what Starbucks has long marketed as a 'daily act of love'—we were instead met with conduct so devoid of courtesy as to border on the antagonistic.

While attempting to retrieve a honey packet—ordinarily available for customer use and, due to recent internal rearrangements of utensil and condiment stations, ambiguously placed—I momentarily reached behind what appeared to be a self-service area. At this point, Rue interjected not with a civil correction or gentle guidance, but with a tone and manner so laced with disrespect that it warranted formal redress. Her speech was abrupt, her attitude unprofessional, and her bearing unmistakably hostile.

I must state unequivocally: Rue is rude. Her conduct was not simply discourteous but demonstrably inimical to the foundational principles of customer service. When I, with composure and reasonableness, requested that she address patrons with basic respect—a request grounded in the dignity to which all individuals are entitled, especially those who have supported the establishment through continued patronage—she remained indifferent, unreceptive, and entirely devoid of remorse.

Upon elevating the matter to the supervisor, Bennie, I was informed that the incident would be reported to Rue’s manager. While I appreciate his willingness to acknowledge the situation, the gravity of Rue’s actions compels me to ensure that this issue is brought to the wider public’s attention.

Conclusion and Public Advisory

It is imperative that members of the public be forewarned: this Starbucks branch, until demonstrable corrective measures are implemented, cannot be regarded as a safe or welcoming environment for patrons who value respectful engagement. The behaviour exhibited by Rue reflects a profound failure in recruitment oversight, employee training, and managerial accountability.

Customer loyalty must not be met with contempt. Rudeness, when institutionalised or unchecked, undermines not merely the integrity of an individual store, but the public trust in the wider brand. Rue’s conduct was not merely impolite—it was egregiously offensive and emblematic of a disregard for the very values Starbucks purports to uphold.

I therefore urge prospective customers to exercise caution, and I call upon Starbucks Corporate to initiate a formal inquiry and appropriate disciplinary measures without delay.

Pretty decent Starbucks downtown. Clean, fast service, but the music is too loud.
