Lady at counter pretended to not take Starbucks cards. I heard her tell people we don’t take them. They do after I insisted. They don’t give rewards which is fine. They literally hid the scanner for Starbucks cards

I ordered a brown sugar oat Americano and asked for an extra shot. It’s usually .20 more for that drink. Here it was 1.45. They were trying but had a hard time keeping up with orders.

Ive encountered RACISM here.
I had a connecting flight through ottawa, stopped by to grab a cold brew and when I asked if they had a larger size the lady at the counter (one with specs) mocked my English accent and kept laughing again and again. Didnt expect such a brand to have such racist people! Never gonna visit this branch if I step by ottawa airport. Would not recommend anyone to be here as well! Hope the management here takes some measures to avoid such occurrence (with someone else).

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience today. I ordered a Pink Drink with no ice, and the barista added a “cold brew” charge of $1 to my order. When I questioned it, I was told their management for no ice requires this, which makes absolutely no sense for a refresher. The same day I ordered a Dragon Drink at the same location and the entire cup was full of ice, so I specifically asked for no ice to balance it out, and instead I got hit with that fee that felt a little like scamming.

If I ordered through the app, there would have been no such charge, so why should I be penalized in person? It’s not about the extra dollars to be honest, it’s about crafty roguish practice. The barista (alex, short woman, shaved hair) was the one who added this charge, and the whole interaction left a bad taste.

I’ve always loved Starbucks drinks, but this experience felt misleading and dishonest. Definitely makes me question spending my money here again.

After months of renovation, the Starbucks at YOW has finally reopened—unfortunately, to major disappointment. The staff appeared disorganized and inattentive, more engaged in personal conversations than fulfilling orders. Despite the store not being busy and several employees on duty, it still took nearly 10 minutes to prepare a simple beverage. When I asked to speak with a manager, he was dismissive and showed no concern for the poor service. A disappointing experience and a real failure on Starbucks' part after such a long closure.

This location is a licensed store, not corporate owned, and is unable to participate in the Starbucks rewards. They can only take payment through the reloadable card on the app?? The lady taking orders is too slow.

Line up is long, staff is calm and friendly, coffee is ok, milk bottle is empty , cannot scan the app to get points unless you reload to a gift card, WTH .

I would conservatively estimate that 40% of the food items were out of stock. From what we saw and experienced ourselves, the same thing probably holds true for the drink menu as many people walked away after ordering and being told what they ordered was out of stock. And to top it off, you can’t collect Starbucks points there. Why have a beautiful establishment like that in the Ottawa Airport and not stock it? Bizarre.
UPDATE: Returned through Ottawa a week later and they have ZERO food items and not all drink items. But they have lots of balloons in Starbucks colours, so I guess that makes up for failing in your main job - having food and drinks to sell to customers. “You had one job.”

Staff behind counter were loud and carrying on this was 6:00 am . Not very professional. Employee with red hair( sorry didn’t get her name ) was very friendly and fast .

Don’t expect to get your order quickly or correctly. Employees standing around watching each other while the line grows longer. They also don’t know how to make americanos - they only put 1 shot of espresso.

Found this location close to Gate 22 in Departures. There’s a bunch of seating here with plugs which is convenient.

Lineups get pretty long, and there’s this staff member in particular who doesn’t seem to have any sense of urgency with either taking orders or making drinks.

The lady preparing the food items in contrast was very friendly but also very efficient with what she was doing which helped.

The staff were not trained whatsoever. Everyone was laughing and gossiping behind the counter, and you can’t even scan your app here. The matcha latte I usually get was disgusting. They blended it like a smoothie so it was 70% foam. Will never go to this location again.
