The food and atmosphere were fine-a step above fast food, lots of nice light. Unfortunately, the service was such that we will not return. My food was served 5 minutes after I ordered, and my husband's took over 45. At one point, he went to the counter to see if his order had been forgotten, and was told that no, it was being prepared. 15 minutes after that, he went up to wait for it (I had long since finished eating) and was told it was, in fact, forgotten. I expressed my frustration and said it wasn't okay to treat customers that way. He was not offered money back on his meal (he was offered a free dessert but does not eat sugar). We will not be returning.

I love The Strand whether it's for dinner, breakfast or a snack, such as an ice cream cone. Their shawarma's are great and their meals, particularly their family platters, are very good value for the money. A good place to try if you haven't already.

Very tasty shawarma, clean, bright and spacious. Staff is very friendly and they have lots of different food options. They also have ice cream which is nice with kids!

The owner's wife (The one who manages google reviews, so expect an unhinged reply) is totally deranged and is extremely nasty towards complaints, they will try to manipulate you and attempt to make you look like the problem. Multiple accounts of terrible treatment of employees are available as well if you search around. I refuse to support any business with such little integrity, and that treats people this way.

This shawarma place used to be located next door in Cedars Food Market. Locating itself in the former Tim Hortons location has allowed the owners to better serve their loyal patrons. I find their shawarma platters to be tasty, plentiful and very good value. They also have a breakfast special ($11.99 with coffee) which we hope to try soon.
