My dad and I went to the Swiss Chalet Kanata location for the Two Can Dine $19.99 Tuesday special and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Our server, Jan (I believe that was her name), was extremely rude — she brought us the bill when we weren’t even finished eating and then left us waiting almost 20 minutes to actually pay. I eventually had to wave down another server just to get the debit machine, and as that server brought it over, Jan whispered to herself, “oops…” which felt very unprofessional.
I shared my concerns with the manager before leaving, and they kindly took my name and phone number to offer two free meals as an apology, which I appreciate. However, the experience still left a bad impression. It’s important that staff are trained better on customer service and attentiveness, as situations like this really affect the overall dining experience.
