Takedon Ottawa

I had the pleasure of going to Japan in 2024. I have been craving Curry pork katsu for a long time and I am so thankful that I found takedon Ottawa. Jenny was very personable when we walked up. Offering suggestions on what we should order. I knew I had my eyes set on the pork katsu.

The space is very small and is take out only but there are picnic tables around the back. There is paid parking behind the building but if you put the address in the Google maps it does bring you directly to the entrance of the restaurant.

Believe me when I tell you this delicious pork katsu tastes exactly like it did in japan. Jenny mentions that some of the recipes that are on her menu are from her family and date back to her grandmother. She is a very sweet person.

If you have gone to Japan or you plan on going to Japan I strongly suggest you visit this restaurant. You will get the best service ever.

Wow, authentic Japanese food! Taste amazingly good and the owners, wonderful people. I'll comeback many times for sure!

Firstly the lovely people running this business are very professional and extremely kind.

The food was to die for. We had fried chicken, edamame, and two eggs (I forget what they are called. They are marinated in soy sauce) everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The Bento box was super aesthetic as well.

I will definitely be returning.

I just had a Ginger pork and it was delicious.
As a Japanese, I will try all of them on the menu. So far great!

I am Japanese and this restaurant is high quality of traditional Japanese home cooking. This is a Japanese restaurant that will please Japanese people living in Ottawa! You can enjoy home-style Japanese cuisine (curry, beef bowl, etc.).

The owner of this restaurant is very nice, and the service is attentive. It has an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs cooking right in front of you, and the hygiene standards are excellent. I’ve eaten here many times, and the flavors are authentic—just the way I like my Japanese food. The menu is diverse, with a great selection of snacks and drinks as well.

Hidden gem in Ottawa! Happy that I found this place. Food are freshly cooked and delicious. Gyudon beef bowl brings me back to Japan. The ginger pork tastes like my Japanese grandma cooked. Parking is a bit tricky. I parked along the building on green valley. Too bad this place doesn’t have dine in.

A wonderful hidden gem for some Japanese take-out. The Pork Tonkatsu and Japanese Katsu Curry was DELISH - a must buy. Would LOVE to try the entire menu at some point. I’ll be back for sure, whenever I’m back in town.

Best Japanese food I’ve tried in Ottawa. More comfort food style than the typical sushi place you’d find in ottawa representing their cuisine. I’d recommend the chicken katsu or the curry!
