Always a good atmosphere that is why other things stand out: entered Tavern , nice girl asked me to seat myself. I did so but no table service . Ten min of my life wasted lol. Chicken taco had tasty sauce but was small portion and chicken was burned dry and chewy. 20 bucks after tip for single vodka and small taco

Absolutely lovely atmosphere for a drink, unfortunately the food is lacking. The charcuterie board had loads of arugula, and other fillers but a poor selection of sausage and cheese. This was served with bread that was dry and looked and tasted freezer burnt. We were told that’s all they had, no offer to check for anything else. The tacos were good other than the shrimp one that was tasteless. I don’t mind paying for an expensive plate but then I expect quality.

Fantastic location next to the Rideau Falls with amazing views. Older facility and furnishings are showing their age. Great hot dogs and agree with most reviewers that it is a bit pricey. Washrooms are a tad on the rather dark side and felt like a cave. Attentive staff and manager walks around to oversee and help. A recommendation for one of the hidden gems for summer outdoor dining.

Great salsa and guac. The tacos are so fresh, flavourful and made to order. Absolutely scrumptious. Service is impeccable and very friendly and helpful. The manager walks around to check in on guests and their experience a few times during a visit. Not at all pushy, just friendly and welcoming.

This time around, I brought my daughter with me to Tavern on the Fall, and I have to say—what a great choice that turned out to be. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was electric yet laid-back, striking the perfect balance for a relaxed family outing. The music, the people, and the riverside vibe all made for an inviting setting.
The weather was on our side too—sunny with just the right breeze—making the patio experience even more memorable. It honestly felt like we were on vacation without leaving the city.
My daughter absolutely loved the place. From the cool decor to the delicious food, she couldn’t stop talking about how “fun and grown-up” it felt. The menu hit the mark for both of us. Everything we ordered was fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. You can tell they put care into both their food and their service.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. There’s something special about a place where you can unwind, enjoy a great meal, and still have it feel family-friendly.
We’ll definitely be back—this spot is slowly becoming a family favourite.

Visited 'On the Hill' many years ago, and it left a deep impression on me back then. This time, I brought my kids along, and they absolutely loved it. The pulled pork was their favorite.

Closed unexpectedly. No notice or warning. Nothing sign or anything stated on the building just several locked gates. No parking and very difficult to locate street parking nearby.
Parking: Will have to park a few blocks away as majority spots close by are reserved.
So happy we stumbled upon this place - really pretty outlook. Thankyou to the lovely server that was filling in - she was so polite and friendly. Overall great service.
Really nice sitting area, with a variety of comfy couches or traditional seating or high tops.
