Tavern on the Falls is a must-visit if you're in Ottawa, especially during the summer. It's all about the atmosphere and the scenic views. As the name suggests, it overlooks the falls, providing a stunning backdrop for a relaxing evening out.The vibe here is absolutely fantastic, with good music setting the perfect tone for a chill night. Do remember to bring a jacket though, as it can get a bit chilly. While it's a seasonal spot usually closed during the winter, it's definitely a summer highlight. The food menu is decent with a variety of options, but keep in mind that the serving sizes are on the conservative side. A standout for me is their Kimchi Caesar drink – it's a unique twist and absolutely delicious. It's a place I find myself drawn back to, primarily for the great atmosphere and those unbeatable views.

While visiting Ottawa we decided to go out to dinner at Tavern on the Falls. We are so glad we did although we didn’t book we were lucky to get a table it was very busy. Great atmosphere overlooking the falls, nice, polite and friendly staff. Simple food options, gourmet hotdogs and tacos. Good selection of drinks. We had a really nice time very relaxing.

A great hidden gem off of tourist beat. I had a chance to stop in here Thursday evening to meet up with a local friend when in Ottawa for business. A great selection of drinks and interesting selection of food / snacks. I went with their gourmet spin on a hotdog. My choice, the Backyard - “Bbq pulled pork, slaw, bacon bits, pickled jalapeños”.For $11, I expected to be wowed, sadly the dog left me wondering where the backyard was. Rather than heaping piles flavour, I could count the chunks of pulled pork, and only two jalapeños as an example.Don’t get me wrong, it’s a unique spot in the city. Enjoy the view, the sunsets, and the company. The food - will hit the spot, but nothing to write home about.

Really enjoyed the visit and experience. The falls are beautiful and the Tavern is quite nice. Such a lovely setting, and the firepit kept us warm and cozy while we enjoyed some Prosecco and gourmet hot dogs. Our waiter was great. It would be nice to have bit more selection on the menu, but recognize this is a pop-up Tavern with limited kitchen. And as noted the hot dogs were pretty tasty. Shared a Tijuana and a Das Dawg with a friend.

Great interprovincial views, reasonably priced drinks, and expensive food. It's always busy, so make sure you have extra time to wait for a seat.

The place is very cool, the location and views are spectacular, good service, the food needs to improve a lot, but it's ok to have a good time accompanied by a good beer.Advice, there is a small parking lot next to the French consulate that is full all the time, so you will have to be patient and wait for someone to release a place for you.Recommended to go over-all on the afternoon mostly the sunset.

Absolutely LOVE that dogs are not only allowed but encouraged! Great atmosphere and stunning views. The only drawback is poor plant based food options. If only more places around Ottawa allowed dogs, it would be possible to enjoy the city to the fullest. Please keep up the warm dog friendly atmosphere!

The menu is small (no pizza) and the food was fantastic and on the more expensive end. Service was friendly, prompt, and responsive; couldn't ask for more. The atmosphere is the reason to come here. The view and the sunset from this spot is wildly romantic. It is entirely outdoors so keep the weather in mind here. They did not have live music (on a September Sunday dinner). We ordered a charcuterie board which was gouda, tacos which were on the larger side, and tartar tuna which was wonderful and fresh. All the cocktails we ordered were on point.I found a lot of the prior complaints in reviews to either be out of date or inaccurate. They've clearly taken feedback to heart and you'd think they're under new management (idk).Kid-friendliness: I do not recommend bringing kids here!

This is a beautiful place to grab a drink. Many seating options and great views over the Ottawa River. It is a bit hard to find and there is limited parking unless you are up for a short walk. I would have liked more menu options for drinks and food but the service was great and I would definitely come back again.

The location/view is lovely, especially if you are seated to take in the sunsets. Seating has been maximized this year, so tighter than last season. Now has table service, slow. Hot dogs are not quite as good as when it opened. If you get seating near the water, atmosphere is good. If you are at the cramped tables closest the bars, then another patio with better food options would be a good choice. Prices are high for the servings you get.

Amazing place where you have a different view from the Patio. The hot dogs were fine, I just expected a better sausage for the price. Many choices and a really cool place to chill with friends or alone. Parking can be a hassle and expect to walk a bit when it's busy. Leave your elderly close to the entrance prior to finding a parking.Kid-friendliness: They serve hot dogs. How more Kid friendly can that be.Wheelchair accessibility: A bit of a walk from the parking but it's all flat.
