I have been going to the brig for over a couple years now and will always recommend anyone that’s visiting or from ottawa to go. Not only is the food and drinks good but the staff is what stands out the most. For people that love going out but have had bad experiences at bars (from people), this place will make you feel safe and comfortable. An employee that always is welcoming and very helpful is Tony (security/staff member). Ive seen him help so many guest over the years and I know many are thankful including me. So if you ever have the chance to go to the brig I highly recommend taking a beer and saying thanks to Tony :)

My husband and I had dinner at The Brig last night, and it was such a great experience. The space is cozy and warm, especially with the fireplace going, and the whole atmosphere made us feel instantly comfortable.
I ordered the basil gimlet (so fresh, tart, and tasty!) and the short rib with mashed potatoes, which was incredible. My husband had the burger with fries and loved it. The playlist honestly sounded like it was taken straight from his own music library, which added this really personal, at-home vibe to the night.
Our server was friendly, attentive, and made everything feel relaxed and easy.
Delicious food and drinks, a welcoming atmosphere, and great service—The Brig is definitely a spot we’d recommend to anyone visiting Ottawa.

My wife and I found ourselves wandering into The Brig on a particularly cold and windy evening, and it turned out to be the perfect cozy escape. The atmosphere was just lovely, with dim, warm lighting and a roaring fire that made the whole place feel like a welcoming little hideaway. The staff were super friendly and really went out of their way to make us feel right at home.
We enjoyed a couple of great cocktails, and everything we ate was delicious. But the cherry on top of the evening was the playlist they had going. It was as if someone had reached into a time capsule and pulled out all the songs from my childhood, tracks I hadn’t heard in years, and each one was a nostalgic delight. It turned a simple dinner into a warm, memorable evening.
So if you find yourself in Ottawa and need a little refuge from the weather, or just want a charming spot with great vibes, definitely give The Brig a visit.

I was only there for the later part of the night, but the two bartenders (I believe one was Patrick though i may have heard incorrectly) and the security guard were awesome! They were friendly, personable, and super quick while keeping everything running smoothly. Great to see such kind and professional service. Thank you for the hospitality!

Last night, we decided to try out The Brig for the first time, and honestly, we were blown away! Just by walking in, the atmosphere was such a vibe. We tried the nachos, and I must say, they were life changing. I’ve never had nachos made with fried wonton chips before, and it’s honestly the best thing ever. Our waitress, Jess, was an absolute treat as well! She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and everything was right. Our drinks came out in a timely fashion and our food was nice and warm! She checked up on us, just enough, and always had such a bubbly and warm energy. From the romantic lighting, to the delicious food, to our lovely waitress, Jess, we’ll be sure to return! We HIGHLY recommend experiencing The Brig!
