Slightly elevated pub style food in a very nice second floor heritage structure. Drinks good, service with enthusiastic young folk. Side Salad overdressed, making salad green wilt. Portions right for me; dining pal said theirs was small. Falafel bowl “best I've ever had!” According to one diner.
It was very good but we made a reservation for 5pm and when we arrived, we were told the bar and restaurant don't open until 5:30. It would have been good to know this ahead so we didn't have to wait 30 minutes when arriving.
Clean very yummy and cozy

The Cameron has a unique vibe, being the house restaurant at the Ottawa Tennis (and no longer Lawn Bowling) Club. The kitchen, a side project of The Belmont Cafe, produces a menu that is well above the standard pub fare, with several interesting, unusual dishes and many custom cocktails. Overall, a really fun and satisfying dinner!
We had a fabulous first time at the Cameron for a casual birthday celebration. Adrian and our server were wonderful, warm and attentive. The food and drinks were very tasty, we all tried something different from the menu and enjoyed our bites n' sips. The outdoor space was comfortable, bustling and entertaining with the open view of the tennis and volleyball courts. We will definitely be back next season!
Great server. Some concern about the outdoor table with children on chairs directly beside the railing overlooking the patio seemed a little unsafe. Also the availability of items accidentally falling to the patio below. However, I don't know what to suggest as a remedy to the railing other than young children not sitting next to it. Otherwise, great venue.

The food was a bit disappointing. We assumed, as it was the same owners as the Belmont, that the ingredients would be impressive. The club sandwich was quite boring, which could have been remedied with a more exciting bread choice. The steak frites included a bit of a disappointing steak. The fries were good though! Atmosphere was nice and the staff were super friendly! They had a kids buffet, which is a great idea and a movie playing with popcorn for the kiddos. I'm not upset I went there, but unlikely to go back any time soon!
The Cameron is a very very special place. The staff are the best part- always happy, patient even when there is a table full of many excited kids, and just good people. They make the Friday movie night so special. It really is magic. The menu is excellent and you can't beat the ambience sitting on the upper deck of the 100 year old clubhouse.
Cameron has GREAT service considering how busy it usually is. We go there often and have never been disappointed. Keep up the good work. I believe the X factor is the service, the menu is fairly simple but you need to continue to have good and competent servers to make the experience good.

I think we came to the Cameron with too high of expectations. We've been to it's sister restaurant the Belmont a number of times and have always been blown away by the quality of the food, drinks and overall experience. Sadly, the Cameron really didn't measure up to our expectations. The serving staff were friendly, although not very attentive (they were all quite young so it's forgivable). The drinks sounded good on paper, but were almost undrinkably bitter (both had WAAAAY to much lemon juice in them). Our appetizer was quite good, but both of our mains felt a rushed, not very fresh, and just didn't measure up to the quality we came to expect from the Belmont. Overall it feels like the Cameron started out with good intentions, and a fairly well thought out menu, but has missed the mark on execution because of an inexperienced staff and poor supervision. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be back.
Chaotic Family night meal was still really great because the balcony dining at the Cameron is amazing. You just can't beat the atmosphere!! Happy to wait a bit too long for a decent burger and cold beers. Most of the servers appear to be “in the weeds” most of the time. It's amazing that they manage the mob as well as they do!
It was truly saddening to see every dimension of this once-splendid dining experience in total ruins - the appearance and ambience have been destroyed by the renos - as a small example the replacement of the original benches with those cheesy white plastic chairs was tasteless and needless - and the food was absolutely appalling - this version of the Cam may well fail fast unless major changes are made
* Polite, friendly & charming server * Comfort food of burgers & fries were top notch * Nice selection of beverages * Pleasant atmosphere on the porch * Super hospitality from Adrian
The location and ambience is unbeatable. Two minor food points. The curry bowl comes advertised with “cilantro” but for the second time ordering it had no cilantro and none provided after noting this. Would prefer the fish taco with unbreaded fish.
