Captain’s Boil was a unique dining experience for me. Prices of the day vary based on the cost of the catch, and the food is served steaming hot straight out of the bag. The style of eating was something I was not used to, with food in the bag being eaten out on the table and a bin provided for shells and bones. It was messy hands-on but interesting, and most importantly, very flavorful - just very pricey for the portion size.

Shrimps weren’t deveined so my friend had to wipe them out. Sauce was kinda dry besides that food was pretty tasty! The robot server was awesome! Not sure if I’ll go back. Giving it a 2.5
I was honestly really disappointed with my experience at Captain’s Boil. I asked for a gluten-free sauce option and was told they didn’t have one, so they offered me a side of “butter” instead.
After tasting it, I asked if it was butter or margarine, and only then they told me it was margarine and that they don’t have real butter. That’s extremely frustrating - especially when someone is trying to be careful with dietary restrictions and ingredients. I should’ve been told that upfront instead of being led to believe it was butter.
The food quality was also subpar. The shrimp was full of actual poop, which completely ruined my appetite. The mussels were overcooked - very chewy and unpleasant, almost as if the chef was not confident in the cooking.
The only positive was the service. Our server was genuinely kind and went out of her way to find solutions, and I appreciate her effort -but the food and the lack of transparency made this a disappointing experience overall.
