I have been here twice with family, as they like to frequent this restaurant. I love good food and I post honest reviews, and the food just isn't very good.

My wife and I were there valentine's night the one waitress was great it was the blonde but the other waitress had one hell of an attitude on her we made a reservation and she didn't even seat us she asked you have a reservation and we said yes we stood around for about 7 to 10 minutes and she just ignored us so I said let's just sit here if she isn't going to tell us what table to sit at then for the rest of the night she gave us looks all night when we got there the bar wasn't even busy so she had time to take 2 minutes to seat us

I went here Saturday night with my boyfriend after a long day, our server Olivia was so attentive and friendly and absolutely gorgeous not to mention she was the only server on for the whole restaurant and still super fast service. 1000/10 hope this wonderful lady gets a raise

Honestly my favorite bar. Im mostly come for the open mic on Mondays, but ive been here on Fridays and Saturdays and even the odd Wednesday. Always have a great time and always feel at home. Lisa is an amazing server and Courtney is a great bar tender. The bar tender on Wednesday (i forget his name) is amazing too. Food is delicious. Only good things to say about this place.

My wife and I come here often for breakfast and dinner, the food is great, delicious and a very fair price for everything.

The servers are amazing. They're always giving positive vibes, checking in on food and drinks, and very easy to chat with.

For the atmosphere, some of the seating is a bit older, but I do recommend either sitting in a booth or next to the fireplace up the stairs. The only slight problem I have with the atmosphere is the lighting, its a bit more dark than I would like. But it is a pub so its probably what they are going for overall.

In short though I do highly recommend Southside Tap and Grill; for the service, affordability and food quality.

My wife and I have been to Southside Tap & Grill several times, and we’ve always had a great experience. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all solid, and we especially love the potato skins. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. Definitely one of our go to spots, and we’ll keep coming back.

For a long time, I have been impressed with the decor and the menu/food and beer quality of this tap and grillhouse in a quieter Ottawa South neighbourhood.

There was one ageing, shaven-headed male server who rarely seemed genuinely friendly, and at times even seemed intentionally distant. But Courtney (server) and Dave (chef) bring a completely positive feel to the experience.

Courtney's sincerity, friendliness and professionalism were outstanding.

The menu she recommended turned out to be a fantastic butter chicken dish (superbly spiced, neither too weak nor too fierce; fresh, soft pillowy warm naan bread; and perfectly cooked white rice) with an equally outstanding rib sampler (ribs were tender, sauce and meat perfectly seasoned and cooked, and fabulously flavourful; the fries were perfectly and lightly crispy on the outside, and warm and juicily moist on the inside; altogether excellent value for money).

The food and drinks menu offers a really good selection here, and I can also recommend the meatloaf dinner.

The venue is welcoming, and not as cliquey as it has seemed until recent times.

The food and drinks here have almost always been great (only once did I receive micowaved rice in a lunchtime curry dish that was as hard as bullets), but the sincere friendliness of some servers was questionable.

But with friendlier service as it now has, this venue deservedly and finally scores 100% from me. That is a high standard to maintain, but I think the venue can do it.
