Great experience! The food was good, and the atmosphere was warm. Our server, Kayla, was fantastic. She was friendly, enthusiastic, and incredibly knowledgeable about the whiskys that were available. Her recommendations were phenomenal, and she made some fantastic suggestions for things to do in the city. Thank you for an awesome evening.

A pretty good pub in the Byward Market. Quick walk from the Rideau Centre. They have a good choice of beer. I found the menu pretty good. The Nachos were great. As was the Shepherd's Pie, which had lamb. The Bangers and Mashed Potatoes came with a cream sauce which I found a bit out of place; I would have gone with the gravy. But it was good. Would go again...

Birthday menu with daughter. Her wine came with soap film. Then dinner of bangers & mash came swimming in sauce. Sausages were tasteless. Been many times previous. Really 1st time disappointed

Good and friendly service, beer menu is okay. Cannot say a lot about food since I couldn't try any dish from their full dinner menu even though I was there before 10pm but I was told it was too late... Had to settle for their nibbles and bites. I hope I get the chance to try the sheperd pie and give an extra star. The whisky offer, by the way, looked amazing.

We came to the Highlander last week for a private Scotch tasting that I had purchased for my husband as a late Christmas gift. Chris, the GM, had helped me plan the perfect tasting as he was able to share his knowledge and passion for the drink. He was able to pair each drink with foods that elevated the flavours found in each of the scotches. We had a blast and we can't thank Chris and the Highlander enough for making this such an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

The Lander is the best Scotch pub in town. The staff are all very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. Make sure to ask for Dave, he's one of the most professional bartenders in the region.

We traveled to Ottawa to ring in the new year. Chris, the manager of the Pub accommodated our party of 8 on New Year's Eve when all other places we tried wouldn't. We had a wonderful time with good food while enjoying a game of trivia. Highly recommend the Highlander Pub!
Good food, great atmosphere... But disgusting ketchup bottles! Pretty much ruined it for me... When mentioned to our (great) server, were told that a memo was recently sent to ensure that the ketchup bottles were not discarded??!! Kind of ruined it for us... Makes you wonder what else in this kitchen is in this condition?

Stoped in for a quick lunch and had their Thursday special - $5 tacos. Chicken and pulled pork were very good, fish was deep fried and greasy. Service was attentive.
