Servers are very nice but the people in charge clearly aren’t equipping them or scheduling them well at all. I’ve only seen at most 2 servers RUNNING to keep up with their tables AND bartend AND run food during busy nights (but usually only 1). Doesn’t seem like management cares at all. Would’ve been 1 star if a) the servers weren’t so lovely and b) if I didn’t have empathy for them because they clearly can’t control the horrible management. If you’re going here be sure to tip the new hires WELL (usually will always be a newbie because of the huge turnover for obvious reasons) because they clearly can’t control how awful they’re being scheduled. DO. BETTER. MANAGEMENT.

My sister and I had dinner here recently. I ordered the deep fried pickles and a veggie burger. Both were completely flavourless. It was like someone boiled the pickles in water to remove all trace of vinegar and dill and then battered them. Veggie burger came with mushy tomato and onions, and was also flavourless. It was late, we were tired from traveling so we didn't complain to the lovely, very busy server who was near the end of her long shift. We wish though that we had chosen differently.

We sat outside because it was a beautiful evening and we had our dog with us. I had the sour dough club house with fries and it was very good. I would go back to this spot and try something else on their menu.

Lunch took almost 45 minutes to arrive (not ideal if you’re on a lunch break). Burger was flavourless. Patty was dry and smelt like ‘barn-like’, and the tomato was squishy. My colleagues also felt their food had no flavour. Served was kind and smiley (4* for her)….but I went for the food.

The 3-6pm one dollar chicken wings special, 5 buck cocktail and beer special, wings are small, Thai chilli flavour is okay, Cajun and jerk is not good. Fish and chips are good portion, tastes okay.

Wish we lived in Ottawa. I would go to this place weekly. This is our second time in 2 years visiting Ottawa and dining at "The Office" gastro pub. Awesome experience both times. The owner is very nice and allowed my service animal to dine inside instead of the patio. We greatly appreciate that as we aren't big patio people. Although they do have a nice patio. The food is amazing and appropriately priced. The chef is amazing. I'm pretty sure he cooks everything himself as he is the only one I seen in the kitchen other than the owner assisting him. The burgers are great, best fries ever! I had the fish and chips and I have never had fish and chips done so perfectly. My husband had spaghetti with meat sauce which he really liked (and he is picky) All and all you must dine here. It's on spark street which is a trendy pedestrian only street. minutes away from parliament. Therefore and excellent place to stop for dinner after you're done sight seeing for the day. It's also a great place to go with friends for a drink and and appetizer. Awesome job to the owner, the chef and our server.
We came here because of the dog friendly reviews and it was in a quieter part of town closer to our hotel. The server was really great and brought our dog water. This was the good part and the reason for the passing grade. We ordered 1 litre of sangria and it was the worst we ever had. Very very weak. The food was mediocre at best. Great spot but not enough for a return visit
