The Royal Oak - Bank at Gloucester

The drinks were absolutely awful. They over-poured the alcohol so much that all we could taste was pure ethanol.

Our server barely spoke to us during our entire three-hour visit. We would’ve ordered more drinks if she had checked in, but she didn’t. When we asked about food, she told us the kitchen was closed, yet we saw her delivering food to other tables. It felt like we were being completely ignored.

Didn’t tip. Definitely won’t be coming back.

One of the only pubs where the food and service are consistently excellent. Also a lot of fun to participate in trivia night while dining with friends.

Parking: Paid parking during the day but free in the evenings. You can park on both sides, all the way up Gloucester St.

Had the black and blue salad and wow, would have known I wouldn’t have chosen that dish. Steak was filled with nerves and had to cut it with a butter knife… samdw for the ingredients in the salad.

Not bad food - hate the tacky decorations and needs new paint.

Like I remember it from years ago. Service was great - our server was on top of it, always coming around well before our pints were empty. Still have great wings and you can’t beat 6.50 for a pint of Pilsner. Always a great spot to stop at when in town for good food at a very reasonable price.

Impeccable service. Bartender (the big Greek guy) never leaves your glass empty. Management team here clearly know what they’re doing.

Went there for team lunch. Service was very slow. It’s understaffed so I don’t blame the staff there… but man it’s not a pleasant experience when I have to wait half an hour for pub food. Food is overpriced for its presentation/portion.

Beer is always cold. Wine is good. Wings are efing yummy but the highlight of every visit is Alexi’s friendliness, smile, service and awesomeness ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
