Nice English pub!
I just had the lobster taco and they were excellent. Good price too.
The food was good. The service was slow, but not due to a slow server - she was great, but the pub seemed understaffed. Nice atmosphere
It was a great place,we actually talked a lot to the Prime Minister. The Prime Minster was explaining hockey to the Prime Minister of Britain. The atmosphere was amazing,we talked quite a bit to the Prime Minister. The staff is wonderful.
Easy cozy neighborhood pub. Royal Oak Beechwood is brighter and cleaner than Clocktower. Food takes longer than Clocktower though. Price of wine is much more reasonable thank Clocktower. 👌
Worst location of the Oak Pubs I've been to.Staff were not friendly and old drunk regulars at the bar give it a dingy tired vibe.
Love the oak, the staff are attentive and easy to talk to. Five words LOBSTER AND BREE GRILLED CHEESE...need I say more.
I came here with my group of colleagues today for lunch. It’s a beautiful place. The bathroom was very clean and the staff is always amazing here we’ve been coming here for years. Will be back for Christmas party for sure.

The food is terrible and overpriced. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, but completely over worked. Two servers, no host, no runners, no bartender, one busser for a place that has 20+ tables and bar seating…can easily seat 75+ people. The two servers didn’t get a minute all night to catch their breath. I’m rating the service a 3 just because they are completely understaffed but the actual servers were excellent considering what they are dealing with. Management needs to change here.

Have to say that the breakfast here is pure garbage toast were stale which seems to be a running incident at all restaurants we’ve eaten at in Ottawa , home fries were rock hard tasteless pellets and eggs were over fried when not ordered that way!!! $30 breakfast for two pure garbage!! What is it about Ottawa restaurants that can’t cook classic breakfast!!! Or Ottawans who accept this mediocrity they wouldn’t survive a month with Montrealers.

Went in at 9:30 on Saturday night. 3 couples at tables and maybe 6 people at the bar. Waited to be recognized/greeted and finally had to go to the bar to ask bartender if she wanted to seat us. Oh just sit anywhere...fine, then turn the Please Wait to be Seated sign around if we are seating ourselves. No wait staff ; bartender showed up, took drink and appetizer order. Drinks showed up; appetizer after a while. Wife n I finished both ; busboy took empty plate. Was never checked up on or asked if we wanted anything else which we did. Waited 15-20 mins ; finally had to go to bar n get the bill. Bartender seemingly more interested in hobnobing with people at the bar than thirsty hungry people in the dining area. Paid bill and left. We like most of the 'Oak locations in town have been to most of them. Not a good or pleasant experience here ; won't recommend or return.

On Saturday August 30 th 2024 we had a private birthday party on the top floor at the Royal Oak on Beechwood but for some reason last call was at 11:40 pm? So when the bar closed upstairs the remaining last 10 people went downstairs to the main bar and ordered drinks. We were well manered, polite and definitely not arrogant however not too long afterwards the barmaid started to cut people off, she started by saying I'm not serving you that's for sure you look wasted (the person she was referring to doesn't drink alcohol??) The party upstairs service was fantastic and they got well tipped at least 2000$, either she (the downstairs barmaid) found out about the tipping and got pissed off she wasn't chosen to work upstairs that night Who knows why she treated us so poorly? In my opinion when you spend collectively 10 grand in a bar you definitely don't deserve a cooler barmaid like that, what it tells me is that Royal Oak did not appreciate our money.
