The scone sandwiches here are excellent. The drinks are also very good. The folks behind the counter were very helpful and friendly.

Next Level scones, order a dozen for take out after you eat here and you won't regret it. Who knew scones could be elevated to replace sandwich bread? This witch did, that's who! Friendship is magic? More like missing this place is tragic.

One of the best coffee spot. This place never disappoints. I was in town 2 years ago and went exploring cafes. After 2 years, they still make the best scone. Whenever I am in town, I visit this cafe. They have really great place for dining in too. It’s high chairs but if you’re looking to work and enjoy some great scone and coffee, this place is great fit. I also love their staff, they are really sweet and service is really quick. If you’re in area, you should try their scone. They also have free wi-fi. Highly recommended.

I started visiting The SconeWitch more than 20 years ago, thanks to a coworker who once brought in a box of freshly baked sweet and savoury scones as treats. That was my introduction — and from that day, I became a fan.
From time to time, I still stop by to take a few home. I even packed two dozen once for a friend to bring back to the U.S. The quality has stayed consistent over the years, and the flavours always bring back that first memory.
Still love it after all this time. I’ll add some photos on my next visit.
Update: Revisited The SconeWitch (Elgin) today after a walk around the Rideau Canal and it was exactly the warm little pause I needed. I ordered a small latte and one of their sweet scones, and both hit the spot — the latte smooth and comforting, the scone fresh with that signature SconeWitch texture that’s soft inside with just the right crumb.
The space felt relaxed and welcoming, perfect for thawing out and taking a quiet moment. Even on a simple visit like this, they deliver the same consistency and charm that keeps me coming back.
A lovely stop for a warm-up break on a winter day.
