If you are looking for great Sunday game-watching ambiance, look no further. This place is the perfect spot. Jordan, the bartender and our server was amazing, kind, friendly and knowledgeable. They had a large selection of drinks from local craft beers to domestic favourites, and even some cool non-alcoholic cocktails for those who want to join in without drinking. Food was delicious, drinks were great and they had every game playing on the TVs.

The manager Dan W always takes such good care of our groups!! We will always come to Senate Bank for game nights, live music, and anytime we want to have a fun night with friends. They have a team full of great servers and bartenders too 🍻

We were here tonight (Sunday 10 Nov) and the server was excellent ! Super nice, super friendly and had all the answers to our many many questions; he was also very attentive. Really amazing service, thank you! Food was also great, and fun vibe, there’s playing cards and boardgames

Wing night was a marketing scam got 2 rounds on an “all you can eat” night. Servers are rude. Would recommend trying another bar.

First visit. Great vibe with sports highlights, live music, shot some stick, friendly clientele & staff ... will return. Had received a heads-up about a musical performance from mixologist & musician extraordinaire Colin. Was going to be in the vicinity that night and didn't want to crash the party, but Colin said come on over. The stage was set.

Went to the Blackjacks game at TD Place, always an amazing experience. Big win! They're in the playoffs. Let's Go! 🏀

Bicycled down Bank to the Tavern. Spacious patio, inside was buzzing. A friendly server with pig-tails & dazzling smile confirmed a 10 PM start for the live music. Did a short walk-about & observed some celebrity sightings from the Warehouse and F&S staff. The cool crowd was out. Found a spot at the bar & ordered a Corona, the smaller version, easy to flip.

Great sports coverage. Watched Olympic highlights including Summer McIntosh winning the 400 IM Gold by over 5 seconds. Incredible. Good F-1 racing, NFL, CFL & baseball highlights.

There was a pool table behind me. Hadn't played in quite a while, probably a good thing, as it can be the sign of a misspent youth. Or an exercise in mathematics, vectors, angles & whatnot.

Very busy behind the bar ... they were getting slammed, but handled it well. The live music started with strummer Jacob on centre stage. A good time was being had by all.

Made a dash for the basement ATM, got a bill & exchanged it at the bar for loonies, the valuable pool table currency ... two loonies to paradise. Bartender Sean facilitated the transaction. A good lad.

A short break & Colin joined Jacob on the stage. They played "Under the Bridge" by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers & brought the house down. Everyone was singing along. "I don't ever want to feel like I did that day, Take me to the place I love, take me all the way ..."

A duo became a trio when a trumpet player joined the lads on stage. Three great musicians threw down a scorching performance to thunderous applause. 🎸🎸🎺 🔥

Had a convo with bartender Sean. Turns out he normally works at the Senate Tavern in the Market. It was his first night behind the Bank Street wood. We were both newbs! He welcomed me to the bar and said they regularly did the same scene in the Market. That night was a music industry event and he was on Bank to help out with the flow. All the stars came out to play, along with their fans & an appreciative audience.

Tapped out a couple of times but was reluctant to leave because of the great vibe. Jacob retook the stage & had the crowd singing along to John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads". The joint was rockin'.

Had a convo with the trumpeter and asked if that was a scripted or unscripted performance. He said unscripted. Turns out the mystery trumpeter was Kelly Craig, owner of Sunnyside music, with material on Spotify.

More convo about Lee Iacocca at Ford, the legendary Mustang, and Kelly's Plymouth Roadrunner which he modified with a Hurst shifter & some nitrous oxide. Wth? Didn't get a chance to ask him why. Chasing GTX or Barracuda dreams, perhaps?

Good convo about Louis Armstrong, the legacy of 70s & 80s music ... Other lads at the bar were musician Asher and Dave, a fellow first-timer in search of adventure.

A pool-playing opportunity presented itself. Put money in the machine & heard the sweet sound of balls dropping. Kelly was waylaid by fans so Dave stepped up. We had a good game, making shots & leaving others ... teamwork.

The lights were coming on, the music was over, so tapped out, said goodbye, and biked up Bank Street and along the canal. No traffic, nice & cool, a good ride at the end of a great night.

We went here for football Sunday to sit on the patio with a dog. Unfortunately, the TV outside wasn't working which was disappointing but we made due. Our server was very apologetic and helped however she could, made sure we had the wifi password to stream the games on our phones, was not comparable to watching the game on the tv.. The food was very tasty and came out quickly (glad we ordered prior to the panda game finishing) We happened to be there when the panda game ended and the place got swamped with hungry & thirsty uni kids and the place was very overwhelmed and understaffed. Our server (who had only just started here) did a FANTASTIC job of managing an overflow of people and way more people at once that she should have had to handle. We were very impressed with how she was able to handle it, considering how they obviously didnt prepare for the influx of customers. Overall had a good experience and the beer on tap was very good !

We had a lovely time at the Senate on the patio. The food was fantastic and our server was amazing! Just a couple of observations:
It would be great if you could get the tv outside working. We had audio from inside which we appreciated but we had to stream the Bills game on our phones to see the game and of course it wasn't synched.
Our server was brilliant and took great care of us, however she was overwhelmed when tons of students came in after the Panda game. She worked her butt off but there was no way she could keep up. Maybe in future be aware of the events taking place in the area and bring in more staff????
PS - the Josh Allen beer was fantastic.

The last time we went here the service was terrible and our chicken wings were undercooked. Last night we decided to give them another try. It took half an hour to just order our food and then another 40 minutes to get the food. They gave me the wrong sliders and my buddies chicken burger was under cooked. Twice now they have served us undercooked chicken. Highly recommend staying away

First time visiting the Senate Tavern was on August 23rd just before midnight. Want to busy but the staff were quick to serve and food was fresh and tasty. Will definitely make a plan to return prior to attending a Sens game in the near future. Great set up with the many televisions, games (pool and basketball). The framed Havlat jersey brought back memories ice for his many hattricks with the Sens in the early 2000s.

Stopped in for lunch today, group of 4. One order was missed, waters for the kids were never brought even though we asked for some, condiments were offered once we were essentially done eating. The food was subpar, service was underwhelming, and would not return. Our missed meal wasn't compensated in any way, nor was it even acknowledged. Nice patio.....that's about it. Spent $120 and felt robbed and angry afterwards, lol!

Me and my 2 friends, each of us with our dogs, were looking for a patio that would allow us to bring our dogs, and we came across this gem on Bank street. They brought out water bowls for our dogs and all 3 of us had the most amazing fish and chips - the best in town. Excellent food. Fantastic service. Great patio and amazingly dog friendly. I will definitely be back.

The food was great. The service was extraordinary. I have food restrictions, which they took seriously, and I felt very cared for.

Incredibly sub par food at premium pricing. Atmosphere and service were awesome but food was terrible. Would probably return for drinks during a sporting event. Would ensure to eat beforehand.
