Have been visiting for the last 4 years and it's been mostly good. One of my favourite restaurants and a place I continue to recommend to others. That said, over the last year, have had more poor experiences than good. Unattentive staff, or quality of food falling short. For example, hard-boiled eggs instead of poached eggs. Dishes missing sides. Staff completely ignoring your table for larger groups or what seemed to be friends of theirs.
The only staff member we've only had good experiences with has been Ahmed, wonderful every time we've visited and occasionally, he's picked up we weren't being taken care of and served us himself. I realize maybe I've just visited on a few bad days/nights, they are incredibly busy after all, so things do happen.
Lastly, for anyone reading this, the estimated wait times they give you is a bit off. Add an extra 30-40 minutes. Almost every time we've put our name down, it's been an extra 30-40 minutes.

I feel like I am writing this review about an ex who I still have feelings for. I am a regular at the Third, usually for Sunday brunch. The food, food and beverage service and vibe are amazing as always.
Today I brought two friends who hadn't been there before and promised them great things. There was a 45 minute wait. No problem. We missed the phone call for our table and returned it 45 seconds later. Our table had been given away. Annoying, but not the end of the world. However, the hostess told my friend "make sure your wringer is on" in a very condescending tone. Her ringer was on. The traffic noise was loud. She then seated several other parties before us. This particular person had been snarky to me once in the past when she said "I am in charge here" in response to asking where I was on the list. When we were finally seated brunch was over which is the entire reason we were there.
Now, all other staff were remarkably pleasant and kind and the service was fantastic. But, my two dear friends who travelled a fair distance at my recommendation will not be back and I was, to be frank, embarrassed. I am not sure if this is a permanent breakup for me or just a break, but human kindness is such a simple way to not spoil a much needed girls' brunch.

Wtf was that! lol!
Entered to a fun, energetic atmosphere. Promptly delivered drinks were a nice, heavy pour. Apps/food ordered never materialized. Hunted down waiter (on foot) for another round of drinks, food still absent. Asked for our bill, were met with judgement for cancellling app. *shrugs* at least we got good drinks?

Probably one of the best restaurants in Ottawa. Fantastic quality food thats fresh and delicious. And on top of all that affordable. The staff are really friendly as well! You cant go wrong getting the flat top or classic breakfast.
The only small nitpick would be in the winter it can get pretty cold while sitting by the door. It also can get pretty loud as it gets quite crowded.

The Third on Wellington Street is a fantastic spot for a quick and casual dining experience. The friendly and attentive staff truly stand out, delivering five-star service that makes you feel welcome from the moment you step in.
Pricing is very reasonable, making it an accessible option for anyone looking to dine out without breaking the bank. While the food quality aligns with its affordable pricing — don’t expect gourmet, but it’s a **solid choice for a satisfying meal**. The dishes are well-prepared and offer good value, perfect for a low-key night out.
If you're in the neighborhood and need a no-fuss meal with excellent service, The Third is definitely worth checking out.

We added our name to the waitlist and waited for over an hour, before we returned to the restaurant to check up on our reservation after receiving no call. Several names on the waitlist below us were crossed off, and seeing as it was literally just a few minutes after 1:00pm, we were told we could not order brunch. It seems they just totally forgot us. The waitress was also rude, unpleasant, and cranky. Only giving this 2 stars because the food we ended up getting was good, but it was an overall disappointing experience especially because they just never called us.
Very good brunch offered in this restaurant. Menu is kept simple with options for all. Very good quality-price offered. Staff is friendly and nice. Seatings available inside.

Affordable food and drinks, in a rustic interior. It can get quite loud sometimes, but it's a fun spot to meet up with friends for a bite or some beers. Would absolutely recommend checking this place out, no matter the time of day.
