Unprofessional.We made reservations for Valentine's day (Feb 14, 2024), drove into Ottawa from >1 hour away. Arrived to find a line of 30+ people waiting outside, all also had reservations. They had completely overbooked for Valentine's day dinner.I was ready to give them the benefit of the doubt (mistakes happen, and thinking they intentionally overbooked makes this whole scenario so much worse). However, how poorly they handled the situation is the reason why I won't be going back to give them a second chance.Disappointing, because from the outside in -10C the food looked pretty good. I felt bad for the people trying to enjoy their dinner while having so many people from the line staring in at them.We stood in line until ~30 minutes after our reservation time, when finally we gave up and went elsewhere. During the time waiting, not a single representative from the restaurant came out to make the people waiting aware of what was going on or apologize for what was happening.The kicker? I had called on the way because we were worried we might be arriving a few minutes behind but would be there soon. The person who I spoke to was not only quite rude, but failed to mention that they'd overbooked and we might as well just go elsewhere.As I said, mistakes can happen but it's all in the professionalism with which a business handles the situation that matters. Here there was absolutely none.

Amazing service and atmosphere. I brought my wife there for our 14th anniversary and I can honestly say it was the best experience I’ve had with a reservation and getting what I asked for. I asked for a private table and they went above and beyond by giving us a huge corner booth for the two of us. The waiter that brought out the bread and appetizers was exceptional. Fantastic service and food all around. Drinks were very good as well. The price was reasonable and we left very happy.
Was the most waste of time and effort including money in gas to even get there. Including ruining Valentine’s Day for my valentine. We had a reservation for 7:30. I also received a phone call at around 4pm that day confirming our reservation. As I arrived around 7:10pm it seemed to be really bumping. so I was glad I made a reservation. So I went to the front of the line to talk to the host saying I have a reservation. To only be told that there was an issue with the system. I’m like okay there’s an issue with the system then why did some one call me to confirm my reservation. Why do I have a phone call in my recent phone calls from your restaurant to confirm from a person not a program. Why didn’t you tell me three hours before instead you confirm my reservation to have me drive down there with my date and make me look like a fool. To what offer me a free voucher. I wasted money and time to go down to be disrespected and turned away. To be honest I will never ever go or try it in the future. the lack of service and competence is enough for me.New edit on top of that my valentine has also written a review which is not visible I wonder why it has been taken down?

My fiancé made reservation for us on Valentine’s Day. Apparently, they over booked and we stood outside in a line with about 20 other couples who also had reservations for quite a while before anyone came out and told us what was going on. I would never go back to this place and I didn’t even get to try the food. Terrible experience.
We went on Valentine’s day with a reservation but when we arrived there was a line out the door… Turns out they overbooked the restaurant. We waited in the cold for 30 minutes with little to no communication from the restaurant. Extremely frustrating considering we traveled far and had already paid for parking.I find it unprofessional for the restaurant to have been aware of this issue and did not call to inform their customers ahead of time. Will not be going to this restaurant again.

On Valentine’s day they triple booked the the restaurant capacity, we were told to wait 2 hours…The staff claimed they tried to call everyone who was triple booked but that’s not true. I called them the day of and was told “everything looks good to go, see you tonight” on arrival we joined the line of 50+ couples waiting to enter all with reservation.The food looked good from outside,The atmosphere looked nice… from outside.Ultimately left.

Terrible….and I didn’t even get to try the food.Had dinner reservations for Valentine’s Day well in advance. Show up to find a line out the door of at least 40 people long - all with the same issue as us. Clearly a breakdown in the reservation service but unacceptable on a night such as this. Thankfully the fine folks at Mamma Teresa’s down the road were able to make room for us for a delicious meal and exceptional service.
