The all the dumplings are very good. The portion size is a bit small but they are larger dumplings so it evens out. The pork dumplings are the best but I recommend ordering all 3 options. But the wonton soap was delicious. All of the food was cooked perfectly. Most of the dumplings come in sets of 4 and the larger set of 6 gives you all 3 types of dumplings. Two each. The location itself doesn’t have much seating but is not typical very busy. It’s very clean and the service was good. I recommend trying it. One of the best tasting dumpling places in Ottawa.

Yi-Ryo is immaculate with nice tables and one large, comfortable booth. Perfect pan-fried buns at an attractive price.

Ordered a surprise bag with them on the TooGoodToGo app. It was scheduled to be picked up today and there is a 20 minutes time range that you are allowed to pick it up. Went all the way to the store to find out that they’re closed. I changed my schedule for the day to get there at that time. Very unprofessional. Should’ve updated time on the app if you won’t be opened. Note: the order is pre-paid. It’s very frustrating

First time trying Yi Ryo Pan fried buns and it won't be my last!! Came in for a quick lunch with a friend and we ordered the beef soup and 6 sample buns to share. The soup was reminded me of a Vietnamese pho but i found the broth had a lot more depth in flavour and was really savoury and satisfying on a cold day. The buns were amazing!! It was our first time eating a fried bun with broth inside so it was a little messy for us but there's helpful guidance on the table for how best to eat them. They were so juicy and crunchy and bursting with flavour! The restaurant is very small with only a few tables but perfect for takeout or a quick bite. I'll definitely be getting take out from there again. Thanks Yi Ryo!

Food is really tasty (I like the wonton very much) and the restaurant is clean and organized.Forgot to grab the receipt and we were heading to the airport. The cashier/ owner? was able to retrieve it and email it to us after a simple phone call.Thank you.

Came here for dinner with a friend and split the mixed buns, and I had the Chili oil wontons. The service was a little lacking. We had to ask for water, we had to go get napkins, and no spoons were provided despite the instructions on the table saying to use a spoon, and that I got wontons in oil. The server was friendly, though, and the food did come out quickly. The mixed buns all came out at the same time, but they were all very different temperatures. The shrimp & cheese were room temperature, and felt like they'd been sitting out a while, and the next people to come in after us were told they were sold out. The flavor was okay, but I didn't see any shrimp in mine, and the temperature was concerning. The pork buns were reasonably warm, the flavor was pretty good. The beef buns were very hot, I nearly burnt my mouth on them, but the flavor was quite nice. I just don't feel like they were all fresh, as if they were, I'm sure the temperatures would have been somewhat consistent. The chili wontons were okay. Maybe the flavor just wasn't to my personal preferences, but I found that it was decent tasting, but not exceptional. I also tried some of my friend's scallion noodles, and those were quite good.Overall, I think there was some room for improvement, and I'm not sure I'd bother coming back.

So I am very conflicted but ultimately dissapointed. I will start by saying the buns did taste very good, very flavorful. But I will start with my biggest complaint that really put us off. We arrived to sit down and eat and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered and our food came out literally within minutes, Wow that was fast, I was thinking! Except, they were clearly made before we even ordered. The buns were barely lukewarm ON THE INSIDE...these buns are suppose to literally be piping HOT on the inside. The soupy inside is suppose to be hot when you pour it on the spoon, again they were barely warm. The buns were clearly sitting around for sometime before we got them. Serve your customers fresh and hot food, especially when you are selling these buns. That was very dissapointing, especially since the food is not cheap. I wanted to mention it, but the lady at the front was just gone for a good 10 minute, she wasn't even there when we finished so we just left.Another thing, the service needs to be better. We got there and were told they had 3 flavors plus a brand new 4th one (spicy shrimp). I stated that I didn't want the spicy shrimp but would get the 6 piece mix buns to try the other three flavors (I was very excited for the shrimp and cheese). When we got our buns, they actually gave us the spicy shrimp, I mentioned I asked for the cheese and shrimp and was told they were sold out of them...ugh why wouldn't you tell me that when I was ordering...why would you give me an order I clearly stated I didn't want...Its too bad because the food is good and tasty, but the other aspects kinda ruins the experience.

there is nothing better than walk in from cold weather and biting into a piping hot pork bun. the soup is SOO GOOD omg I dream about it. perfectly salty and fatty and flavorful. and I looove the crispy bottom of the bun and the soft tender tops. the pork is so good and the buns have such a perfect balance between soup and pork. it's a small place with a few tables but I love the more casual ambiance of it. very friendly for solo diners , like a quick stop in to get buns on your walk back home. also a very approachable price point. I think the 4 buns are $9 and they're dinner for me! wouldn't really recommend the marinated egg, it's a bit too minty for me I think.

Authentic Chinese pan fried pun place, I think Shanghai style. The fried buns really are the star here, especially the classic pork ones. The spicy wantons are also good, but the noodle soups were underwhelming. Prices were fair and the staff were friendly. Worth checking out if you are downtown and was real Chinese food.
