Zak's Diner Elgin St Reviews
Above-par, hard workin' staff that still take a moment to chat you up while mixing 4 shakes and managing the take-out counter. Superhuman Service!
Loved my Reuben so much I bought the tshirt in the hopes they'll give me staff rate on my next meal ;) Hearty portions so plenty left to share with a fellow hosteller. 5-Stars, thanks for the comfort food since Winterlude hot chocolates as a kid in the 80s. Best Nostalgia Diner in the City
We had breakfast at the Kanata location, we order 2 poached eggs and bacon for 17.99$each robbery for this.
if I go to a restaurant I want real poached eggs not eggs from a steamer pan and not even cooked properly, came with tasteless bean from a can and about 10 beans in a small condiment container, frozen cooked potatoes, the toast and
bacon was ok, this is not a diner
The milkshake were amazing and the service was good but I went with 2 of my friends we all got some sort of burger and all 3 of them was disgusting pretty much all 3 of our plates where still full when we left and it costs us $40 each not worth it, we were told it was good so we went…. Not going back unfortunately.

Zak's Diner on Elgin Street offers a welcoming and cozy atmosphere, especially in the summer when the garage doors are open, creating an "inside-outside vibe." The staff are friendly and attentive, making customers feel valued. The diner has a nostalgic feel reminiscent of a 50s diner, with a hearty breakfast menu that offers something for everyone. Serving sizes are generally huge, though modifications can be made for smaller appetites, such as opting for egg whites in the omelet or skipping beans and home fries. The menu features delicious options, including locally famous milkshakes and generous portions like huge pancakes. Vegetarian options are available, and the staff are accommodating to dietary restrictions, making it a suitable choice for those with food sensitivities. Parking at City Hall is the easiest place to park. The diner is a great spot for large gatherings or a quick bite, with great service and a friendly atmosphere. However, the ambiance can vary; some find it darker and less bright than other locations, and certain sides like coleslaw and pickles may not be as fresh as before. While the food is generally good, some reviews suggest it may not be the best experienced elsewhere, and the prices can be a bit higher for the offerings. Overall, Zak's Diner on Elgin Street remains a popular and welcoming place to enjoy good food and friendly service without feeling rushed.
