Mr. Fry Guy Reviews
The reason for the rating is mostly because of the attitude of the server(s). I was there a couple of weeks ago and I placed my order, gave the lady a $20 bill, but rather than give me my over $5 change, she took it upon herself to put the money into the tip jar!!!!!!!!!!! I was stunned, that she actually had the nerve to take my entire change and place it inside the tip jar. I thought that it was customary for the customer to give the tip that they feel is appropriate?? That left a really bad taste in my mouth. And as for the mofongo, which is what they are supposed to be 'famous' for, it's NOT authentic. It tastes like the plantains are boiled not fried and there's no chicharron added to the mofongo. If you ask for extras they don't provide them, but the charge you for them. Honestly, the food is 'ok' but it's not anything that you can't cook at home, better than what you pay a lot of money for.

Mr. Fry Guy is a popular eatery in the Pembroke Mall, serving a variety of dishes, including their signature mofongo and poutine. While some may have mixed experiences, the restaurant's friendly servers are a highlight. Nicole, in particular, is praised for her attentive and humorous service. The food is described as "ok" but not exceptional, with some dishes, such as mofongo, not living up to expectations. However, the poutine is a standout, with a perfect balance of fries and gravy. Overall, Mr. Fry Guy is a decent spot to grab a bite, with friendly service and decent food.
