The place is new and they are finding their groove, but the food is fantastic! I ordered the jerked chicken dinner. Portion was large and very tasty. Next visit I will have the ox tail and I can't wait to try it based on the quality of the food so far. Edit: the oxtail dinner was delicious! I don't know why that one person rated 2 stars and stated that the oxtail had no flavour; she doesn't know Jamaican food as well as she thinks, I suppose.
The one thing missing since I moved to the area is diversity in food options. I love Carribean food, especially Oxtail and it has been years since I have had any. So when I saw that Northern Caribbean Restaurant opened in Penetang and the great reviews this is what I wanted for our Anniversary dinner. Good food, my wife can't take too much spice but she loved the jerk chicken and the super crispy fried chicken. I went with the curry goat roti that was very good nice that it was boneless but was more on the spicy side I loved the spice but my wife couldn't take the curry. The coleslaw was full of sweet and tangy goodness. They were so helpful and friendly, even gave us samples to help us order something wonderful at this very clean restaurant.
