New Years Eve, my wife very nicely dressed in a dress, having dinner with friends, reservations made a couple months in advance. Shown to a table in the side room, very close to double doors leading to the entry area and kitchen access. It's -15C, the restaurant entry door is behind my back, being regularly opened as customers come in. We mention that this table would be drafty/cold, rude response essentially saying there's nothing they can do, all tables are timed exquisitely for NYE, other tables have more customers (and therefore more important, presumably), bla, bla, etc...and they put a little space heater down near us.
We gaze longingly through the window of the closed door right beside our table into the main dining room (the usual access to the anteroom if you're not trying to jam another table in for NYE?). Every time the entry door opens I get a blast of cold air at my back, and my wife gets cold air up her dress. To add to the fun, the customers milling about the entry foyer are far from quiet (why should they be, they're out for a NYE celebration!) and the swinging kitchen doors 10 ft behind my head are constantly, well, swinging...noisily, as swinging kitchen doors do.
The table 10 feet deeper into the ante-room, and that distance further from the noise/cold, is vacated. Crickets from unhelpful staff, so we declare we're moving. and do.
The salmon is excellent, potatoes, veggies, and soup pretty meh. Server clearly very new and unprepared, most likely not her fault that she has to ask someone else about absolutely everything.
While waiting for the server to bring our bills, we are told by someone else in the same rude tone as earlier that it was time for another seating and that we need to leave, now. No, I'm not kidding.
Discussion held with manager, who offered lukewarm apologies and hopes that we would give them another chance. Fat chance, after one of the worst dining experiences we can remember.

Trying to make a reservation seemed like an inconvenience. Having no more room for the night does not warrant being hung up on. A second phone call asking for a different day was more seamless. Similarly, simply being there seemed like an inconvenience to the waitresses. The food was ok. Nothing special. Based on the experience over the phone and in person, I’m not in a hurry to go back.

Amazing schnitzel. Dated decor. Service is friendly but not top notch, for example, tea brought out after everyone had finished dessert.

Excellent service my dish was very tasty and my only reason for 4 stars is the price point two meals one pop no alcohol %18 top = $80.00
I applied and was accepted for a server position a few years ago, on my first shift the owner/manager told me I would be working for 6 to 8 weeks without any pay! I was freshly out of highschool at the time. I didn't show up for the second shift. I will never recommend them to anyone. :)

We had a lovely experience at Maximilian Restaurant in Perth, Ontario. The food was excellent — fresh, high-quality, and full of flavor without being overly salted or heavy.
We ordered salmon, schnitzel, and grilled chicken, and each dish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The flavors were well balanced and thoughtful, making the meal both satisfying and refined.

I love the location, right downtown Perth on the River Tay. I loved my meal, the schnitzel with the mushroom gravy and my husband had the Black Forest schnitzel. He didn't love his as much as I loved mine, but we tasted each other's meal and I thought his was delicious, too. Natasha was a wonderful server. I definitely recommend dining here.
