Rocky River is one of Perths little gems. The service and friendly staff far exceed your expectations. Don’t be surprised if the owner pops by your table to say hello! Three of us stopped by for lunch and were so pleased with the fresh daily specials that we shared. The jalepeno yummies (almost like decomposed poppers) were amazing! The 2lbs of honey garlic Nashville wings served with crispy fries were delicious. Our hearts melted with the Bitterballen (Dutch beef croquettes) served on greens. So good! The real thing! The homemade desserts, a chocolate mousse cake and the coconut cream pie, were lovely. Discreet and efficient service and reasonable prices. Can’t wait to go back in warmer weather to try the patio.

Odd. Almost like they don’t want your business. The food is reasonable for Perth Ontario. But we had to almost drag the server to our table each time we wanted to order another drink - she never came by or asked once. They make lots of money on alcohol. That’s how it works. We were customers. And not once were we asked if we wanted another drink. Just gone. Which was frustrating, and like I said, just plain odd. Also, they were open till 9 I think but a couple arrived at 8:15 and were turned away. They were also frustrated. Again - odd. “You want to give us your money? Nope. Not interested.” That seems to be the motto. Anyway, the place emptied out pretty quickly and by the time of the 8:15 customer-to-be-that-wasn’t it was mostly quiet. And I think I know why…..(see photos of totally empty restaurant).

Great spot for a good meal. Nice atmosphere inside, the patio was not open due to the cooler weather. Staff was attentive. The drinks and food were very good too. We had the mussels which were still in season, and it's a nice touch that they include fries and slices of baguette with the mussels as most places do not do this. They also provided the proper utensils for the mussels, nice touch. Also ordered the fish and chips, which came with once piece of fish which was a generous portion. The breading was thin and crispy, fries were great, and the tartar sauce appeared to be homemade. Also ordered a Ceasar to drink, and were nicely decorated with beans, olives, and a pickle, with the right amount of heat.

Visit Saturday October 18, 2025, party of three for lunch. Lovely older building nicely renovated and decorated. On-street parking available as well as nearby municipal parking lots. Mobility impaired persons should be aware of some small steps at front and back entrance. Excellent outdoor seating on patio with space for about 35 or 40 guests. Patio is a dog friendly space. Professional and friendly staff. Good menu and beverage selection. We had lobster rolls and a burger which wer excellent.

Maybe it was just an off day for them. We went because it had good reviews but were both disappointed. Service was adequate. Food was ok but not great. Best thing I can say was that the washroom was immaculate.

Well, well, well — what a delicious surprise! Rocky River Café in Perth absolutely blew me away. Before I say anything else, let me give you one word of advice: try the Nashville Original Hot Chicken! 🔥 WOW! I’ve never had a sandwich like it — spicy, juicy, and bursting with flavor. I even asked for an extra side of that sauce to take home (it’s that good!).
My wife had the Beet Salad, and after one bite she said, “We’re coming back!” — and we did! (And yes… I ordered that Hot Chicken again. Couldn’t resist!)
The staff are truly top-notch — friendly, attentive, and full of smiles. The hidden patio is a little slice of magic: cozy, green, and perfect for a relaxed afternoon meal.
Oh, and between us… I’m a Santa, and I cannot lie — this place is pure joy. 🎅 Great food, great people, and great vibes. If you’re anywhere near Perth, don’t miss Rocky River Café. You’ll leave happy, full, and already planning your next visit.

The food was excellent! We had a Cesar salad and the quesadillas. Both tasted awesome. We arrived a bit after lunch. We were served our food in about 10-15 minutes, which was reasonable but after about 15-20 minutes we were asked if we were done. This was while we were still eating. We could hear someone in the back bitching about getting the used dishes to them. We were being rushed to finish. We knew they weren’t closing until 9 pm and it was around 2:00. What’s the deal with this? We’ve eaten there several times and never experienced anything like this.
