The Locks offered just what we needed after a hot day on the Links. A fantastic lunch dining experience with great ambience, warm service, and delicious food made with local ingredients. The fish was crisp and fresh and the heritage salad was mouth watering. A true gem in Perth - we’ll definitely be back!
Everything was good. But special note for the staff for the exceptionnel service making this experience memorable. This is what proper service should always be. Keep up the good work!
Had our wedding here in June 2025 and everything went perfectly. Marianna the coordinator is very organized and took care of everything on the day of. Very fair pricing for what you get and the venue is beautiful with access to the best spots for pictures in Stewart park nearby, mere steps away.
The locks served my wedding and it was so wonderful! The food was incredible, they staffs organization and care was impeccable. They were very kind and bar staff were great! I would very much recommend. We have also been for lunch and dinner a few times and it is always tasty!
Attending a wedding at the Locks this weekend and the venue was terrific , the food was outstanding and the staff at the Locks could not have been more attentive and accommodating. It was a fantastic night !
So disappointed! I called for reservations for 4 people, had to leave a message on the voice mail, which clearly said someone would get back to me. Nobody did. My husband and I showed up and there was no reservation. The server asked when I called, I said 4 pm, and she said nobody called me back because they were fully booked by then! So when our friends showed up, we were all disappointed. I don’t think that being fully booked was a reason not to call me back. Very inconsiderate! We went to Riverwood, had a great pizza by the canal.
If you want a quick lunch this is not the place. Over an hour after ordering our food arrived and was okay. I had fish and chips, fish was dry and I didn't care for the batter. My husband liked his burger though. There was only one server but there was way too many customers for one person to handle in a timely manner.
The service was amazing. She was so sweet and even Apologized for the wait. The kitchen staff were way behind... 25 + minutes behind.
Reliable menu, great service, excellent atmosphere. Great steak!
A very nice restaurant located within a hotel in Perth. Ontariel, very nice décor fast and friendly service menu is pretty good. Large selection of local beers and wines food was very good.
We had fish and Chips, Cesar salad and calamari.
All good nicely presented and fast served.
Reasonably priced.
Decor of this restaurant is fairly unique.
And apparently they have live music sometimes.
Nice patio too!!
Will come back

We ate here on a wintery midweek night as part of our local staycation.
The ambiance & decor is beautiful, matched by the pretty snow falling outside which we could see through the large windows. The fireplace was perfect.
We enjoyed local craft brews and shared appetizer. I got a salmon fennel salad, and my husband got rainbow trout. Both were excellent- great flavours and quality ingredients, in particular the salad greens.
Our dessert choices of sticky toffee pudding and crème brûlée were brought to us by Chef Flo who was very friendly, and we had excellent service with Neve, on a busy night.
Give this place a try when you have some time to enjoy & unwind.
Also consider the hotel- great venue!
Parking: The hotel & restaurant have small lots, so it may take a few minutes to find a spot. Street parking is available or there is paid parking across the street.

While staff were nice, we waited 2 hours for a meal for 4. The steak came back way overcooked and so did the burger. Completely unacceptable for the price we paid.

We were there in Jan for lunch with friends on a Sunday. We were 1 of 2 tables in the dining room and it took over an hour to receive our food. The waitress, while friendly, was painfully slow. Food was good when we got it.

While I understand that we were a party of 20, the overall experience was disappointing. If a reservation can't be properly accommodated, it might be better not to accept it at all. The food was good, but it took over two hours to arrive, and the staff struggled to keep up with drink orders unless you were purchasing bottles of wine. This seemed more like a management issue than a server issue. It appeared that while there were many people working, not enough were actively supporting the other servers or the kitchen, leading to inefficiencies in service.
Kid-friendliness: It is kid friendly.

A great experience at the Locks topped off with Chef Flo coming out to surprise the kids at the table with their dessert made special for them.
