We ate here on a wintery midweek night as part of our local staycation.

The ambiance & decor is beautiful, matched by the pretty snow falling outside which we could see through the large windows. The fireplace was perfect.

We enjoyed local craft brews and shared appetizer. I got a salmon fennel salad, and my husband got rainbow trout. Both were excellent- great flavours and quality ingredients, in particular the salad greens.

Our dessert choices of sticky toffee pudding and crème brûlée were brought to us by Chef Flo who was very friendly, and we had excellent service with Neve, on a busy night.

Give this place a try when you have some time to enjoy & unwind.
Also consider the hotel- great venue!

Parking: The hotel & restaurant have small lots, so it may take a few minutes to find a spot. Street parking is available or there is paid parking across the street.

While staff were nice, we waited 2 hours for a meal for 4. The steak came back way overcooked and so did the burger. Completely unacceptable for the price we paid.

We were there in Jan for lunch with friends on a Sunday. We were 1 of 2 tables in the dining room and it took over an hour to receive our food. The waitress, while friendly, was painfully slow. Food was good when we got it.

While I understand that we were a party of 20, the overall experience was disappointing. If a reservation can't be properly accommodated, it might be better not to accept it at all. The food was good, but it took over two hours to arrive, and the staff struggled to keep up with drink orders unless you were purchasing bottles of wine. This seemed more like a management issue than a server issue. It appeared that while there were many people working, not enough were actively supporting the other servers or the kitchen, leading to inefficiencies in service.

Kid-friendliness: It is kid friendly.

We had a wonderful little get-away at the Best Western in Perth - great room and service.
Most memorable were our meals at the Locks! Service and food were exceptional! One of our group had a difficult menu restriction. The most cheerful and engaging cook ever came into the dining room, discussed his needs, and created the perfect dish for him. Couldn’t have higher praise!

Dietary restrictions: Salt-free diet is difficult to accommodate In a restaurant - chef was so helpful - created the perfect plate!

Recommended dishes: Atlantic Salmon, Tay Caesar Salad

My Fiancé and I had a date night out at The Locks and we were just blown away. First, when we walked in the ambience was wonderful: beautiful decor, not-too-loud and very welcoming. Our server was great: the perfect blend of professional and friendly. We had some lovely mocktails to start and they were delicious. We then had our starters and the caesar salad was to die for, as was the broccoli soup. Our mains were also terrific! We had a mix up with a gluten-free pasta main but as soon as we pointed it out not only did they fix it immediately, but they also brought us over some delicious cake. A place that is willing to go so far above and beyond to make it right is the kind of place you know will treat you well. Highly recommend this fantastic restaurant and will definitely be back soon.

We have had our work Christmas parties there for the last 3 years. Party of 25 to 30 people. The service, food, was top quality.

Vegetarian options: They were very accommodating with any option.

Terrible dinner. Table cleaned after we sat down, and our app arrived, and we had no cutlery. Had to grab it from another table. Seafood medley app was barely warm, and the crab cakes very overcooked. Both our filets were so tough and stringy, we had to literaly saw through them with our serated knives. Caesar salad was bland, with very little dressing. Was very disappointed for the price, and won't be returning.

Always a great experience at the Locks. Service is friendly and efficient. Good variety of dishes to choose from. The tomato basil soup, shrimp cocktail, rainbow trout, beef short ribs, creme brûlée and sticky toffee pudding were full of flavour and the portions are perfect. I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes. Delicious! Would highly recommend this place for dinner. The chef came out to greet us and check to see if we enjoyed our meal which was very nice of him.
