Matsu Sushi (East City) Restaurant

Fresh sushi was delicious. Rice was warm and flavorful. Fish was well prepared. Chicken udon was fantastic, not over sauced with thick and perfect noodles. One of the best.

What can I say, I was back again for the millionth time. Food is delicious, prices are a little high but I normally never really mind! Delicious on a great day!

Underwhelming and overall unsatisfactory experience. Came in from Lindsay too. Will avoid in the future.

Ordered Skip the Dishes. We ordered the Fleming platter for Sushi. It was disgusting and in edible. The avocado was moldy. The rolls didn’t taste or smell right. Not ordering from here ever again, so gross.

Disappointing. This has been one of my favourite spots for many years but the quality and quantity of their servings is on the decline. Of the ten nigiri in the $25. mixed sushi dinner five of them were farmed salmon and one was shrimp. The maki was a measly size and a large can of Asahi, which is worth $9. was $11.95. Service and decor are both good but not enough to compensate for poor food value.

Matsu in east city always has the best sashimi options. Best overall quality. Although expensive, you definitely pay for what you get with this sushi.

Once again the food was great and the service is always on. Didn’t have to wait for a thing and every time we needed a refill, etc…. The server was right there to look after us.

I went for dine-in initially and the server was behaving really cold. She first said there was no dine-in as closing time was in 40 - 45 minutes (which is enough i feel, also there was a another dine-in there). I understand this part. I placed a take out order and later, no one even told me to sit down while my order was getting ready. That is not the way you treat your customers. They were behaving really cold for reasons unknown. After I gave a tip they said bye very politely. I don't know what they thought of me. I still can't figure out if they were racist towards brown skin or if they were exhausted due to work. Overall I was disappointed with the unwelcoming atmosphere. Food was good though. Also I suggest you should start putting tips as 5% 10% 15% and 20% . For take out people would usually prefer to give the minimum tip.

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. This is the only place that my husband and I order sushi from in Peterborough. Tonight we ordered through Skip the Dishes, and unfortunately, the driver delivered the wrong order. I know this was not a reflection of the restaurant it was a reflection of the driver, who made the mistake. Even though it wasn’t their error, they went out of their way to replace the order and deliver it to us within 20 minutes. They don’t typically do delivery but made a special exception (and to the other side of town) because they felt bad. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Amy greeted us at the door and was super friendly and prompt. Aside from this, their food is always really fresh and great quality.

Delicious food served promptly. When my family couldn’t decide what to order, the staff patiently offered recommendations, which turned out to be excellent. We’ll definitely return!

Hidden gem in Peterborough . They have semi private booth which is great! Music is kind of relaxing and chilling! The decorations makes me feel like Im in Japan! The servers are attentive and helpful even they seems to be busy.

The dolsot Bibimbap was huge! Tempura was so yummy, sashimi was super fresh and delicious.
Will recommend to everyone and will be back again for sure!
