Had to remind them I did not get my drink when they were bringing out the food . Waited and extremely long time for 2 peoples’ orders, then it was wrong and had to wait for them to remake it.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about The El P that we used as our wedding venue! From the moment we started planning, Amanda (and staff) made the entire process effortless. They truly went above and beyond, handling every detail with care, professionalism, and a personal touch that made us feel completely at ease and so special. On the day of our wedding, everything was flawless. The venue was breathtaking, the staff was attentive and kind, the food was amazing and everything flowed perfectly from start to finish. It was the most magical day of our lives, and we owe so much of that to the incredible team who made it happen. We couldn’t have asked for anything better! If you are looking for a wedding venue where you can relax and truly enjoy your special day with your family and friends, THIS is the place. We recommend it to anyone who wants their wedding day to be absolutely perfect!

I have been to El P a handful of times, and I usually always love it! However, last nights visit might be my last for a while. The service of our server was very poor, no quality checks and refills of drinks. And we noticed she had many other of her own tables also waiting for her to go over to them.
I noticed it was a new menu last night so I was excited to try. My sister and her friend both got handhelds, and I got the ancient grain salad with side fries. The food took close to an hour to come out, the place was not full. Their handhelds and sides came out cool. My salad came out smothered in only farro grains, there was little to no lettuce in the SALAD. Not to mention my server forget to ring in my fries I’m assuming because when I asked about them she replied “Oh Yes!”, and then it took another 10-12 min for them to come out. I did send my salad back asking for more lettuce in it, that wasn’t a problem. I’ve had the ancient grains salad before and I don’t remember being the way I got it last night.
Overall, not the best food nor service last night. Won’t be back for a while.
(Also don’t except staff and/or owner to answer you back on a bad review. From the looks of it they only answer back to the good ones)

Sarah was great, she provided great service and gave great advice on selecting our drinks and dishes. She was friendly and has a good sense of humour. The atmosphere was great, table clean and service was fast and friendly. It should be no surprise I’ll be returning in the future.

Such a weird experience today. We walked into the restaurant around 12:30pm on a sunday. Place was empty and our server was laying down in the bench eating chips. After we almost walked out she realized we were in the restaurant. We were seated and the tables were so sticky the table wear was stuck to the table. We ordered 2 beers and they were as flat as apple juice. Had to get something else. She took our order and the had to come back 2 minutes later to go over it all again as she had forgot. (Prob just write it down if you can’t remember)…she also had a mouth full of food asking us about our order. The food was the only good part of the experience really. Our server just randomly disappeared and another server came out who was actually friendly. When we went to pay our server appeared again to tell us she had to leave to drive a coworker to his car. She took a seat at our table to review the bill again to make sure she had it right, also not proper server etiquette at all lol
Besides all this the place was filthy, floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. Tables were super sticky and dirty.
Don’t really recommend coming here before dinner.

My wife and I had a rare “date night” and made a reservation at El P. Top to bottom it was a wonderful experience. We sat on the patio, which is small and quiet, right in front against the sidewalk. It’s nice in the summer to watch the city be the city with a cold drink. My wife had a cocktail and I had beer. Her’s was creative and delicious and mine was crisp and cold, perfect for the extremely hot day. Our hosts were cheerful and competent, and struck the perfect balance of being available when we needed them without hovering or interrupting our conversation. Our meals lived up to the rest of the experience; my steak was tender and perfectly cooked and my wife’s salmon entree was fresh, full of amazing flavour, and a very generous portion. The quiet and relaxing atmosphere, excellent service, and excellent food all combined to make for a perfect Friday evening date.

Had brunch here on Sunday while visiting Peterborough. The food we had (bacon &eggs, fried chicken-eggs Benedict) was amazing including the bread and best-ever fried potatoes. They clearly use top notch ingredients here.

This Soba Noodles is one of the BEST things I've ever eaten in my life.
These cold noodles with the rest of the vegetables & freshly cooked & hot chicken breast is so PERFECT. The Vinaigrette is the hero, brings everything together. So so good.
