Cora Breakfast and Lunch

I’ve been coming here for YEARS. This was one of my go to breakfast spots growing up in Pickering. Clearly they just went under new management and it shows. My experience today was ABSOLUTELY terrible. I had to flag the manager down to take our order after being seated for more than 15 min on Monday morning… it wasn’t even busy. There were grounds in our coffee refill that we waited way too long for and HAIR in my breakfast… not to mention my order was wrong…The manager did not once come to apologize. When I spoke to the server she stated the kitchen manager PRETENDED TO REMOVE THE HAIR AND SAY “What hair?” As if they were going to give me back the same dish. The fact that the server ADMITTED this to me is CRAZY. Sad that I wont be back here ever again. Thanks for ruining a Pickering staple.

We went here for lunch. The reservation was easy to make (calling the restaurant). The staff were lovely and friendly. The menu is expansive. I would be shocked if someone was so picky as to not find something to eat. The food was good quality. I got the maple hot chocolate and the smoked salmon Benedict with a side of back bacon. Everything was delicious and very affordable! This is a great spot to take the family or friends.

Once a unique and cosy breakfast/lunch option. It has lost its charm. It is in the upper end of pricing with nothing to recommend it. Food is more like the rest of the options now. I suspect Cora is no longer as personally involved as in the earlier days and a CEO hired to make money has taken over.

layla is a incredible server, she remembered a very little detail from the last time i was in ( my 8 year old daughter eating their giant breakfast) this was a few months ago. the food is always great, but this review is going to layla. ( sorry if spelled her name wrong) . keep up the great work and keep putting smiles on peoples faces. one person can make a difference.

Had a great breakfast experience. The owner Anton is very welcoming, and our server Payal both did an excellent job taking care of our big group. Service was fast, friendly, and very well organized. The food came out quickly, orders were accurate, and everyone felt looked after. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, and we never felt rushed despite being a large group. Really appreciated the attention to detail. Would definitely come back and recommend it to others.
