Match Eatery & Public House - Point Edward

Our experience was perfect. We had 20 women and the service was very good. They assigned us 2 waitresses and the food was delivered on time and delicious. Well done, I’m sure it’s not easy with a crowd!

If Match wasn’t the only place in Sarnia that consistently put UFC on I would never go. I have been to Match probably more than 15 times and every single time I am blown away by how terrible the service is.

Went for UFC last night with some friends and our waitress come around our table maybe once an hour, was rude, messed up the bills and questioned twice when I wanted to order a different drink then I was having before. Not to mention the service being so slow one of my friends going to the bar to get a drink instead so he didn’t have to wait 30+ minutes and the waitress got mad at him for doing it.

It’s really sad because it’s such a nice restaurant and has great menu but often the food is mediocre at best and the service is always shockingly bad. It feels like most of the waitresses just hate their job, hate their customers and do less than the bare minimum standard for service. Reading other reviews and from my experience it’s crazy that it has been like this for years and not changed at all.

Last night was the first time in my life I have not left a tip at a restaurant. Usually even if I have bad service I still feel guilty about not giving one I do so anyways. After so many bad experiences and this one probably topping them all i could not justify giving any sort of a tip for arguably the rudest and worst service I have had in my life.

Went there for a ufc event last night and was literally worst service I’ve ever had. Lady who was my table’s server was acting as if she had just hit the bottle really hard prior to her shift. Numerous long wait times, mix ups, dropping food, and errors to our final bills just tells me all I need to know about the calibre of service at this establishment.

We stopped in for lunch while visiting the area. The restaurant was near empty but they sat the only people in there right beside each other which is weird. The drinking glasses could use replacing there all worn out and look bad! The booth's cushions are all cracked and ripping. Refills are harder than they should be since the place was almost empty. The food isn't that great and the portions are on the smaller size. The 2 sliders are really the smallest sliders i have ever seen, The sides of fries are somewhat small. I had the Ultimate Club and it was Ultimately the worst!!!! It has some Apple Chutney aioli on it which was so bad that one bite was all i could even eat (and clubs are one of my favs). The sauce tastes like what i imagine it would be to drink perfume & smells like soap. They did make me a new one without the sauce which was nice but i would recommend skipping this place all together. Will not be returning

Service was good, atmosphere is good......quality of the food, no.

The problem is the quality of the food, and the options on the menu. Change your menu, improve your quality. The meatballs tasted way too generic, like the ones you get from discount grocery stores. The spaghetti had little to no flavour. The sauce tasted heavily processed. The cooks try their best with that they have, but omg the quality of the product delivered is atrocious.

Improve your product, change your distributor, invest in authentic quality food items, not the heavily processed bs. Chef Meeq Rowavé can only do so much.

Our server , Linda, was Awesome and gave us great service. We got to sit comfortably watching the band Totally Acoustic and she was friendly and laughed with us and added to it being a fun night!😊

We had a party of 5. 4 adults and a child. We had fantastic experience. Our server Margie was amazing. Very attentive and so sweet with our daughter. We’ll definitely be back!!

Match Eatery Point Edward is a great place to meet with friends and share a meal. Happy hour every day from 3-6 and daily specials. Ashley, our server is always awesome! We met Iaan, the manager this evening......hopefully, he decides to stay here in Point Edward/Sarnia as he seems to have a motivated staff who appreciate his experience. Great meal, experience.....thank you.

We were first seated inside but with the nice weather asked to go outside to the patio. The maître and waitress graciously moved us to a booth outside. Our meal was excellent as well as the service.

Linda was great! She made our entire experience enjoyable. She has a great sense of humor and was so fun!

Service on patio terrible! Linda was the worst! Waited for everything, food was cold when we got it (I’m sure because she forgot)
Ate with our fingers, had to ask for utensils
Never got S/P, VIN etc (did ask)
She needs to retire!

I’m not sure why this place has low ratings. Friendly service, it’s open late, and the menu was great. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted. I ended up having the fresh green salad with chicken and the best salad I’ve ever had. Recommend if you’re visitingSarnia and casino.

I went to enjoy the UFC 306 fights on the Patio. Only was told by the hoste that I could but they will be closing it in half an hour. patio had patrons sitting there already. I couldn't understand the logic. it's the nicest patio in Sarnia, but you can't enjoy it because of their agenda. I sat at the bar, reluctantly to watch the fights. as I ordered a drink, I complained to the bar staff that I came to the Casino to enjoy the patio experience but can't, only to be answered with a responce that, they are a Unioned bar and No one wants to take responsibility to the patio closing... some logic eh.

This restaurant has a nice spot on the water in Sarnia. Were here two years ago in July of 2022, and the service was FAR better. Food was great, service was poor. Waitress literally had three tables and we had to ask for refills, we were never offered any, waited over an hour for food. Would not be eager to return which is unfortunate given the location.
