Stumbled across this cute restaurant wandering the tiny town when we had some unexpected free time. For a little place, the decor was charming and welcoming. Very unexpected. We thought it was very inexpensive.
They have your typical Canadian breakfast foods and then some with a Caribbean flair.
My son (21) and I LOVED the BLT patty - super unique Jamaican patty stuffed with BLT fixings. Wow - blew our minds.
Mango juice was made from fresh mango puree and was way better than expected. We got a second cup to take home :)
Ordered some frozen Jamaican patties to take home - delicious!!!
We were only looking for a snack and sure glad we stopped in for a full breakfast.

Cute little shack, with simple home cooking. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated. This place is tiny, though. Inside only seats 6 or 7, and a few tables outside on the sidewalk. We loved it, though. Sorry, no food photos, we were too hungry after a long day of fishing. The painted rock in the photos is mine that I left...the lighthouse background was just perfect for it!?

Very quaint mostly take out food. Sure you could stay in, but Port Burwell is just too scenic not to take in a short cruise around town while you snack.

Looking for a quick lunch break, I found myself welcomed by the warm smile of the owner. The restaurant, though small, had everything I needed, including a meal cooked with care.
With just three tables inside and a simple menu, I ordered the classic BLT on whole wheat bread. The sandwich was made with a generous helping of savoury bacon, fresh and crispy lettuce, and ripe tomato slices. A light spread of mayo combined everything together nicely.
The condiment and coffee refill station was conveniently available. However, a cup of pickle slices showed signs of white mold, which made me steer clear of it.
There was one shared washroom that looked like the one you'd find in a house. It was small but well-maintained and clean.
Overall, I had a satisfactory experience at Beach Hut. While I doubt I will be returning to this town any time soon, I can recommend this place to those in need of a quick bite infused with care.

Had the pleasure of dining at one of the few restaurants (literally one of few!) in Port Burwell, and I must say, it's a welcome spot in a town with limited options. The menu might lean on the basic side, but it covers all the essentials and does them well. What really sets this place apart, though, is the couple running the place. They're all about kindness and positivity. Their good energy is infectious, adding more to the experience than just the food itself. Given its small size, the restaurant can get cozy, fitting about 7-8 people at a time. But in a small Canadian town like this, that intimacy becomes part of its charm. It's a space where strangers and locals alike can come together, chat, and enjoy. While Port Burwell isn't my usual go-to, the warm attitude of the owners alone is enough to draw me back. It's a reminder of the beauty found in small towns and the unique experiences they offer. Definitely looking forward to returning and soaking up more of that positive vibe!
Vegetarian options: I believe the owners are nice enough to accommodate by removing meat ingredient of some of the sandwiches when it’s not too busy
Dietary restrictions: This place rather serves basics selections. Those with any sort of dietary restrictions could struggle.
Parking: It appears to be rather easy place to find a parking anywhere in the town during the season. But the weekend may be challenge.
Kid-friendliness: The owners really love the kids and the foods should accommodate them rather well
Wheelchair accessibility: It is very tiny and cold place. Unfortunately the wheelchair might be challenging to accommodate

We came out on April 8 from London to see the eclipse (which was fantastic). We came here looking for food. All the places around were busy, but the owner was sitting outside and invited us in. They were super friendly and we got delicious hotdogs that perfectly hit the spot. If we ever come out to Port Burwell again, we would eat here again!

Best breakfast around
Great food, good prices. And near the beach.
Such a pleasant surprise. Came to town in the down season and they seemed to be the only place open for breakfast. Menu is limited but they’re cooking out of a small space. Portions were generous, home fries were made on the spot, toast looks homemade, and prices were very affordable. No complaints. A good honest meal.
I bought the big breakfast. I think I was missing an egg but I think it was replaced with extra peameal bacon. Probably the best home fries I've had. Everything was done to perfection! Highly recommended.
